Congratulations. My wife passed the interview 6 months ago and was told that if she had had had all her papers, she would have been sworn in right then and there. Since we couldn't go back home to get them, we mailed it to them registered and hoped she would be called soon. This was 6 months ago and we're still waiting. She has a meeting with an INS officer this Friday to see why the hold up. "If only one person knows the truth, it is still the truth." - Mahatma Gandhi Web - Blog - RSS - Math

What INS office did she go? They told me that I'd receive an appointment for my ceremony in 2 to 3 months to go to Los Angeles Convention Center. Cheers Al

So ... “Howdy?” Today I had my naturalization interview. Arrived to the INS or USDHS office and waited for 45 minutes. My interview was at 11:05. An INS officer called me in and gave me the interview. She was really nice (never experience that in any INS office for the past 6 years) 10 minutes after I got 100% on my history, government and English and I was approved to become an American Citizen!!! Was so fast that my head was spinning!! And the most important part was the officer was really nice and pleasant to deal with. In another important note, I apologize if yesterday anybody believed that I was attacking in any shape or form the country instead of the INS. I do believe still the INS has to be improved to the standards of any other agency in the country. Thanks everybody that wish me, good luck, it paid off! Cheers Al

That's better than any naturally born American could do.

Now go rent the movie, "Coming To America" (I think that's it) with Eddie Murphy. It will cap off a pleasant day with a bit of humor. Congrats and Welcome Home!!!

Overheard in clients: Question: "So country music doesn't make you want to get down and boogie?" Response: "No, it makes me want to clean off the bottom of my shoe." I just have to say that's about one of the best statements regarding country music I've ever heard. Welcome to CP in your language. Post the unicode version in My CP Blog[^] now.

Well I purchased a US history book and I got into it, American History is actually pretty interesting. There is not much detail about George Washington, but explains in detail things that you always wonder, how is that you can only have a president for 8 years maximum, how after Roosevelt that changed and very interesting parts and dates. Of course the officer did not ask me much about history :( Al

well yeah. Just because our national history is short compaired to the old world doesn't mean a single book can come close to doing it justice. :)

"I'm" (will be) a dual citizenship. They didn't ask me to surrender my passport, however it's illegal for an American Citizen to enter the US border without a US passport. In other words, I need to use my passport to leave and re-enter the country, therefore USA does not recognize dual citizens. Of course I can use my Spanish passport to go around Europe as its eaiser, however an American passport opens many doors while traveling. I am very excite to get the American Passport, I need to apply for my daugther that is 1 month old yesterday as we are going to Puerto Vallarta this summer, will be awesome that we can apply together, I am in only one with a different passport while we are traveling! Cheers Al

Did they swear you in on the spot? Or do you still have a separate oath ceremony? My understanding is that they take away your old passport at the time of the oath when you receive your certificate. Of course, I haven't gone through it yet so what do I know?? :) Rob Manderson I'm working on a version for Visual Lisp++ My blog http://blogs.wdevs.com/ultramaroon/[^]

What INS office did she go? They told me that I'd receive an appointment for my ceremony in 2 to 3 months to go to Los Angeles Convention Center. Cheers Al
