Even for me that sort of thing is too geeky;P I prefer my online gaiming to have a bit more instant impact. My current favourite is MTA-SA, a free (3rd party) addon for GTA San Andreas.

I still remember two kids at the computer store at the time when Civ II was the hype, obviously trying to spend some christmas money. One of them, holding up a Civilization (as in Civ I back when the I wasn't needed) shouted "look - Civ for only 10!!" The other coming up to him, both studying the box to understand their insane luck. After looking at the screenshots at the back, one proclaimed: "no, that looks forged" I felt old that day.

OMG the graphics were SO poor on Civilisation, but the gameplay so great. Not since Elite on the BBC had I been so fixated by a game, and although I never played the flopped CivII, I can say that CivIII and now CivIV ive loved.

I don't, haven't tried it. My wife and I play Age of Mythology online almost every night though...and unlike WOW, there's no monthly fee.

There's an online version? I have that game somewhere around here. Do I need an update to it, or did I just miss the very big "online" button? Jeremy Falcon

Err, I meant multiplayer; I play the game online, as opposed to offline single player.

Never played it. I have played FFXI, got addicted, got bored, almost deleted my account, but by then I met some online friends (well one) that make me keep my account. Of course, I've considered deleting my account and just using good ol' email. The only two bad things about those games are it's really repetitive and the people are extra dorky (like they've never seen a real girl before). I can't stand conversing with most of them. Isn't it odd that there are II, III, IV, ... XI version? You would think that the Final Fantasy really is final.

I used to play. I have a level 60 undead priest and all of the epics you can get on him. I am currently trying to sell him for $150 US even though it is worth more; no one is wanting to buy. Brett A. Whittington Application Developer

I played Everquest for several years (99-03 regularly, a couple of brief revivals in '04 and '05). It easily ranks as my favorite video game of all time. The biggest reason I stopped playing is because I had a kid, and just couldn't justify the timesink. I've considered getting WoW because I've heard that you can play in shorter bursts than EQ realistically required. But I fear that the special EQ feeling will never be recaptured, even by EQ. I do have several old guildies in WoW though...

Nope. I might do one or two Su-do-ku puzzles from time to time, or blow things to bits(read: die tragically) every 2-3 weeks in UT2004. BW
