Hi, I have my C# exe and some Dlls to go along with that. I need to create a setup app that installs these files. I went to the documentation of Visual Studio Setup Project and saw how to do one. Apart from this, my setup app should also look for .net framework in the system, and if its not there install the .net framework too. How do I do that. Any ideas?? Thanks.

In your Visual Studio setup project, you should be able to right-click on the setup project, hit properties (or a similarly named button) and go into Prerequisites. The select the .NET framework as a prereq. However, this should be done by default; you can have the setup project scan for dependencies and automatically add the .NET framework as a prereq...I believe you can right-click on your setup project and select "scan for dependencies" or something.

Yes. I believe it will bootstrap it; that is, if setup detects the .NET framework is not installed, it will download and install it as part of setup. That way you can distribute a smaller setup file.
