Is just a really hard album to not like. The tones rip and the rolling nature of the music in crushing waves. I can be so productive to this type of "classical" music. If only Bach and Beetoven had access to Electric Guitars and James Hetfield. I truly believe that the world would be a better place. Perhaps even better than what those Noodle-Heads Bill and Ted sought after in their excellent adventure... Mmmmm, which reminds me... Iron Maiden. Well back to it. Let the tribute to 90's metal continue uninhibited from now through the rest of this project... And all the coders spoke in one voice "\r\n" and then there was silence as they donned their headphones to the sounds of gently tapping keystrokes. Is it Friday yet?:-D:laugh:;P:->:rolleyes::-O:cool::) I think I'm a bit warped above the shoulders...

If I remember correctly, the ..And justice for all album was from 1988 ;P Form back then (early 90s -- I was like 10 o 11), I loved Guns n'Roses. The Appettite for Destruction (yeah, 1987) and the Use Your Illusion albums were great, every single song! I rember taking a walkman (yeah, no CDs back then) to school and listening to them while in class (our teacher let us (three friends and I) while doing some excersises by our own because we worked very well.) :) Oh those were the times..... :rolleyes:

Yeah in 87 I was in the 7th grade so that's just about right. I remember my parents had bought a lot of property in the mountains of Idaho about then. It was a 2 hour drive up and back and my walkman was the only thing that kept me sane. The time in between the drive was spent clearing brush, downing trees and improving the land so it could be zoned for residence. UGHHHH. I've never worked as physically hard since then. It was over summer vacation and we stayed up there weeks at a time and worked until dark in 90 + degree temperatures. Some good memories from it to for sure. You get to know your parents in some really great ways when you take the time to work side-by-side with them. Had a lot of fun with four wheeler (ATV's) a utility trailer and some of the best open fire cooked food I can remember. ...Lots of hard work though to. :) - Rex

Definitely a classic rock/metal album, as is everything they'd done up to that point. And you can't rightly mention Metallica and Maiden without nodding to Priest and the Scorpions. Well, maybe you could, but I can't.:~ BW

Funny, I don't like it. The sound is far too dry, and led directly to the more organic sounds/songs on Black ( in other words, the band agrees with me, and went in another direction, which is why they turned commercial ). I love 'One' and 'Eye of the beholder', but the rest of it leads me to my core Metallica belief - metallica died with Cliff. It just took ages to become apparent. And I hate to say it, because I really like Jason. I think his talent was squandered, I don't blame him. Those first three albums are amongst the best metal albums of all time. And what do we have now ? Load and St Anger. I've been listening to Primal Fear today, their new album rocks. If you like Iron Maiden, you should check them out, and also Edguy. Metal is coming back - I also saw a doco on metal in Canada, in the cinema no less, and then bought another on DVD just the other day. No, Metallica were basically a Motorhead copy band. Motorhead founded thrash. That album is pretty old now. I didn't like the 'new' covers very much, but all the ones that had been b-sides or on Garage Days were and are awesome. Christian Graus - Microsoft MVP - C++

Megadeth is also overrated. I had to laugh, I bought the Megadeth clip collection, and they had an interview snippet from the 'peace sells' days. Dave says 'to be honest, I always felt musically held back in Metallica, like I could do so much more. They kicked me out as I was about to leave, to tell you the truth'. I like St. Anger (am I the only one?). It has a cool "garage band" feel to it. However, I'll agree that it's no where near as good as the Black album, which I think is when Metallica peaked. I also liked their S&M album with the San Francisco symphony. That's another one that I think doesn't get the respect it deserves. In my opinion, the S&M album did an awesome rendition of "One". Although I'm probably biased here since I live in the San Franciso bay area. P.S. You got my 5 for recommending Primal Fear. Cool stuff.

Ride the lightning was the first album of their's I bought and it's still my favorite. I bought Justice next and really liked it. Killers was extremely good as well but lightning will always be one of my all-time favorite albums. I'm pretty sure it's a post-Burton to but it's been to long I don't remember.

I think they peaked with MoP. Black is half crap songs, half good, commercial songs. The world didn't need more commercial metal, it needed more real metal.

Geez, cannot believe I made that slip-up. I've been queing up all sorts of music for a final 3 day push on a system and was working in my Maiden and got it confused. That's almost a sin in the metal crowd... I'm going to see if RHAPSODY had the album/band you mentioned. You've got me curious for sure. - Rex
