Resigned from my Job (because i have another offer). :( I have one offer in my pocket and have to join that on 4th April else it will be rejected. Meanwhile 3 better companies selected me but I don’t have official offers from them, everyone has told me that you need to wait for 4-5 days to get official offer letter. Now I am confused that whether I should join the company which already given me a offer or should I reject that offer and wait for the better one... :^):(:sigh::(:^):(:sigh:

It's such a drag when professionalism goes down the drain!!! I had the same problem! If a company want's you they should approach you with an official offer letter, not a promise to appoint you! Meanwhile your other job(s) hang in the balance and you have no security about where to go. The company with the big salary promise, or the one with the smaller salary gaurantee!

You left your job simply because you had another offer? Did you give your previous employer notice or just walk? cheers, Chris Maunder

Oh boy - things are pretty good in India, eh? Considering you got 4 offers when you already had a job, you should be able to confidently let this current offer pass. One of the other 3 offers are bound to materialize, and you can choose that - or if nothing works out, you can still get a job in a couple of weeks time I'd think. Whatever you do, try and avoid joining the Apr-4th job, and resign 5 days later. I hate it when candidates do that! You must realize that, that is a highly unethical thing to do and an absolute pain in the ass for an employer. I had a few people do that to me a few times, and I was so annoyed at them! Regards, Nish

You don't know if the jobs you may get would be much better in practice than the one you have. Personally I would go for the one that is there. The tigress is here :-D

Eventually go for the job where you'll be happy. Life's too short to work on a job where you are not fully satisfied. If you make the wrong decisions, it's hard to get back on track. Regards, Nish

Jeeesh. I would love to have this scenario. Take the first job, and see what happens with the other ones. If you quit after two weeks, so what. You don't owe this new company anything. Regards, Brigg Thorp Senior Software Engineer Timex Corporation

I would have to disagree mostly for the reasons that Nish described above. One one of fellow students in college had gotten a job offer and accepted it. However, a week later a better job offered him a job and he dropped the first job for the second. Unfortunately for him, the two HR managers of the two companies that made met at a conference and new hires came up as a subject. His name was brought up by one and guess what? He lost both offers.
