Reporting tools for web
-
Does anyone know of any good reporting tools that can be used in web applications? Something like Crystal Reports only it should make sense, cost less than $25,000 per CPU ( X|) and be reasonably easy to use? Thank you.

So in other words nothing at all like Crystal Reports then? As for your question then no not really. We have found though that ASP.NET web form controls are pretty good for creating good looking, and easy printing, reports. I am sure though that there must be some reporting tools for web apps hanging around. Search Google :) regards, Paul Watson Bluegrass Cape Town, South Africa The greatest thing you'll ever learn is just to love, and to be loved in return - Moulin Rouge

Well, except of the fact that it should actually produce reports like Crystal... :) On the other hand, Crystal does have difficulties doing even that most of the time... Paul Watson wrote: We have found though that ASP.NET web form controls are pretty good for creating good looking, and easy printing, reports. How do you control printing, page breaks and stuff like that? How do you get rid of all the extra info that IE prints on the page (URL, date-time and so on.)? For some of our clients it is OK to be able to just print from the browser, but some want to have better control over printing and this is where I am having all kind of trouble finding a good tool... We can make Crystal work but it is extremely bloated, non-intuitive and too expensive for what we want to do...

You might want to check out ActiveReports. I have never used it but looks like it is a CR like program. If you check it out let me know what you think because I might need to switch to it also. :jig::bob::jig: Joshua :jig::bob::jig: Joshua Sonork ID: 100.9944 ICQ: 519642 Hotmail: JoshuaJGuy@hotmail.com
