In a blatant attempt to create a Lounge thread that gets mentioned in Jordon's newsletter, I pose the question: What is your earliest memory? Mine: Burning my hand on the stove. I thought "ooo, pretty red color" and then "ow!!!" I don't know how old I was, probably between 3 and 4. --Mike-- Visual C++ MVP  LINKS~! Ericahist | NEW!! I have a vague memory of my grandpa picking me up from play school - I was about 3 at that time. I don't remember my 1s and 2s though. Regards, Nish

I vaguely remember waking up in a crib, because i liked to chew on the wood rails. Those memories are pretty jumbled though. My most vivid early memory is probably the time i found a small metal barrette and tried to fit it into a wall socket. The resulting fear of wall sockets and barrettes has remained intense my whole life.

When I was a year and a half old, my parents went to Rome and I have a vague recollection of looking up at the Pope while he was waving to the people. I actually don't remember anything, but I've had this recollection for a very, very long time. The very first thing I remember was the day my sister was born. I was two and a half at the time and I remember her crib by the door and me being lifted to see her, and I remember walking back home after that. That is the earliest thing I can definitely say I remember. "If only one person knows the truth, it is still the truth." - Mahatma Gandhi Web - Blog - RSS - Math

Heh! Try more direct contact. We had an old ElectroLux vacuum cleaner. The cord was retractable and the end unit with the cord could be separated from the main body. The cord was plugged into the wall and the other end into the vacuum cleaner. I unplugged the vacuum cleaner end and touched it to my tongue. I know I was less than four years old at the time. But I do have memories of sitting in a pan and being bathed. Now, I dare anyone to say, "I remember when I was conceived." Lilith

I remember big rocky mountains seen through the window of the car. I realised what that memory was only a few years later when my parents brought into discussion a trip we took through the rocky mountains of Cheile Bicazului[^]. They couldn't believe I remebered that. I don't know how old I was but my parents think I was about 2 or 3 years old. They also mentioned having a car crash, but I couldn't remembered that. regards, Mircea Many people spend their life going to sleep when they’re not sleepy and waking up while they still are.

I remember playing on a teeter-totter (SP?) at my grandma's house. I must've been 3 or 4 at the time. I also remember seeing this room with plushy burgundy carpet when I was really, really young, maybe 1 or 2, I'm not really sure where that was at...

Age almost 4 (3 years 10 months), I had a owl halloween custome and my brother and I were playing in them. I was running away (typical for the big brother to beat up the innocent younger one and with the mask on I could not see well. I turned at the brick wall a foot too soon and went face first into the brick end post. Flattened the face totally. Did not care what mine looked like, hey I was behind the mask right! I was so mad that when mom would not let me wear it that night (and people did see my face :) ) "Every new day begins with possibilities. I actually remember late 2 or early 3 going out with the farmer who owned our garage apartment. He had a strawberry farm. I'd go out picking strawberries with him and he would leave some behind and I'd eat them. We moved out shortly thereafter so the age checks out. ed ~"Watch your thoughts; they become your words. Ouch! I vaguely remembered something similar with an old electric application (can't remember what). When I took the plug off the metal remained in the wall socket and I *think* I touched it. I never asked my mom about it but it remains in my memory until now. And also the time when my foot got ran over by a taxi because I wanted the wildflower my brother showed me and went out of the car to get it him. Edbert Sydney, Australia
