Does anyone know the defenition of the word "Cair" as it shows up in LOTR as in "Cair Andros" and the Narnia series as "Cair Paravel." I'm interested in knowing what it means, but I can't find a defenition. Looked on google, dictionaries, online dictionaries, wordweb, etc.

Maybe it is something that Tolken and Lewis made up together. They did after all go to college together and share ideas. Just a thought, -Richard
