Does anybody know where I can download this? The only version of IE 4 I have doesn't have it and I am working with Windows 95. Thanks if you can help. -:suss:Matt Newman / Anti-Linux Activist:suss: -Sonork ID: 100.11179:BestSnowman

Go to Add/Remove, double-click the IE item, and it'll show a dialog. One of the options in there is to install the AD shell (I forget what it's called, "web integrated desktop" or something, it should be easy to spot). --Mike-- Rollin' in my 5.0 With the rag-top down so my hair can blow. I tried that but it gave me a dead link to my old ISP's website. -:suss:Matt Newman / Anti-Linux Activist:suss: -Sonork ID: 100.11179:BestSnowman

As far as I know you have to uninstall IE4, and then reinstall IE4 and select to use Active Desktop during the installation process. Doing it that way was the only chance for me to install AD on those "old" systems like Win95, NT4.0. Even installing IE 5.x or IE 6.0 doesn't help. You need to select AD while installing IE4. That sucks my only version of IE 4 (came with ISP) doesn't have AD with it. I guess I will have to suffer with the old Win95 interface. Unless someone knows where I can download IE 4. -:suss:Matt Newman / Anti-Linux Activist:suss: -Sonork ID: 100.11179:BestSnowman

Unless you have a specific reason for wanting to use Active Desktop I would avoid it like the plague. I remember IE4 came with that and Channels, both bombed terribly (though Channels more so than AD.) regards, Paul Watson Bluegrass Cape Town, South Africa The greatest thing you'll ever learn is just to love, and to be loved in return - Moulin Rouge
