    I get this image of a guy sitting on the ground, each eye focused in a different direction, steam rolling off the top of his head. Time for more coffee.

    No steam. All the steam is gone. But my hair probably won't be combed so from a distance it might look like steam.:)

    The enemy's gate is down. :cool: Welcome to CP in your language. Post the unicode version in My CP Blog[^] now. People who don't understand how awesome Firefox is have never used CPhog. The act of using CPhog alone doesn't make Firefox cool. It opens your eyes to the possibilities and then you start looking for other things like CPhog and your eyes are suddenly open to all sorts of useful things all through Firefox. - (Self Quote)

      I've just challenged you :) You're the white player so you choose when the game will start ;) --- http://sprdsoft.cmar-net.org - We Sprd You Softly Our site features contents and several images. All of this is very weird. In the end, war is not about who's right, it's about who's left.

        I opened the game, but am having browser troubles logging on, may have to slightly adapt username(this browser will not accept space in name). Will try to resolve these issues later on today. approx 3-4 hours from now. Looking forward to playing you:)

          I nope the nope:-D, wasn't that 1600? I think the 'new' rating system does the math in a way that your rating depends on your opponents' ratings, so after a couple of games your initial rating doesn't really matter.. But don't take my word for it:cool: I do hope however, that John meant 2200:laugh: --- http://sprdsoft.cmar-net.org - We Sprd You Softly Our site features contents and several images. Well, I love chess, but I wanted to tone down the "you're on!!!!" response. :) I can see though, a new slew of CP sigs, with their chess sign-on names. I'll have to update my sig now... :~ Marc Pensieve Some people believe what the bible says. Literally. At least [with Wikipedia] you have the chance to correct the wiki -- Jörgen Sigvardsson

                  I play some at FICS, i use that mainly because of the UI, i can size the board to fit most of the screen. I do try to keep away though since i get really p*****d when i loose. ( Which happens to often. X| ) And according to this thread, programmers make really lousy chessplayers. :) /Magnus

                    Yes, but I can't seem to find anybody that wants to challenge me, and I sort of not like very much playing facing a screen. I love the feeling of taking the piece (?) in the hand to quick an opposite pawn or a queen away from the board, punching the clock, plus the psychological challenge that is not that much if the player is not physically present. ~RaGE();

                      Heck, I do not remember the ratings system at all. What I can tell you is that I am not a beginner and was one of the founding members (and vice president) of the chess club at the first college I went to. INTP Every thing is relative...

                        This is for grown-up beginners, 1200 is for children. And I started playing as a child. 2200 is really good, I'd give much to get to that level. I gave up playing in competition after a few years, because I had reached a level where you had to start learning openings by heart and debrief your moves during hours after a play, and this was not fun anymore. ~RaGE();

                          I hate when instructors do that, trying to force you to learn chess..:mad: If someone doesn't want to analyze, let him be! Sooner or later he'll come to that by himself. If not, then he probably doesn't like chess as much as he thinks.:| But still, I'd rather choose for someone to play chess and not analyze it instead of hating the game because I tried to force him do something he didn't feel like!
