Food habits

Many times I've seen here on CP people speaking about food and meals. So I wonder if you usually eat not-so-good-food like fries/chips, snacks, and so on, maybe while working. And how often you eat at fast foods? I usually don't eat chips or snacks (not even while working), a little more often fries. I can say also that, recently, I eat at fast food (Burger King :-D) less than once a week. What about you? ___________________________________ Tozzi is right: Gaia is getting rid of us. My Blog [ITA]
Pretty much everything we eat is home cooked, mostly from raw ingredients (i.e. pretty much no ready meals) - when we moved house a friend gave us an old Microwave, which just gathered just in the corner of the room until I got rid of it a few months later. Fast food wise, we'll have fish and chips, or something like that, once every couple of weeks, and the odd chinese or indian takeaway, but those are pretty sparse, and tend to be a real treat -- Help me! I'm turning into a grapefruit! Buzzwords!

We hardly ever eat chips, or burgers. Perhaps twice a year. Kebabs (donner) I might eat once a month. We try to avoid sugars and refined carbs and potatoes (the Montignac diet), so, we eat a fair amount of salad, goats cheese and fig is sublime. We also eat a lot of fish, like hake, or pollack, in a beurre blanc, or wine and cream sauce say, with a brocolli timbale perhaps. We also go for bacon and eggs alot for breakfast. We (I) also drink bucket loads of red wine. Nunc est bibendum

You should've kept it. The microwave is great for cooking fish. But I hear you on the proper cooking front. We cook maybe 5 days a week at home, and the other two are where we're too damned tired after hard days work to bother, so we just stick some frozen junk in the oven.

Lean meats, no preservatives. Fresh greens often. Whole wheat potato chips rarely if ever. Shredded mini-wheats for breakfast. Organic cage free chicken and eggs. Try to avoid meat unless I know where it's from. Snacks... I don't really snack. I try to eat right a meal time and then drink water in between. My vice, caffeine. Even then it's a very high-end health drink called Pollenburst. The stuff rocks and is *very* good for you. I reserve the right to junk out maybe once or twice a month and that might be ice cream or a frapp from starbucks.

Well I eat french fries once in a month, snacks and so on not more often. I don't eat fast foods very often. Perhaps once all two or three month. Most times I cock for myself or with my wife. And I don't like Burger King or McDonalds. It's to expensive for the crap. :) Greetings, Ingo ------------------------------ PROST Roleplaying Game War doesn't determine who's right. Used to be big into eating at places like Burger King or McDonalds with the occasional chinese place but lately we've been eating better. More vegetables and less cinnamon rolls:) ------------------------------------- Do not do what has already been done. Absolute power corrupts absolutely.. but it ROCKS absolutely, too.

I avoid junk food like the plague - our one indulgence is a chippy about once a month. :) Aside from that, the only 'junk' I eat is chocolate...and then sparingly (I've a savoury rather than a sweet tooth). Crisps and other fast food are pretty much non-existant in our diets. :) Anna :rose: Currently working mostly on: Visual Lint  Anna's Place | Tears and Laughter "Be yourself - not what others think you should be" - Marcia Graesch "Anna's just a sexy-looking lesbian tart" - A friend, trying to wind me up. Microwaves are good for popcorn. We have a bag about once a month. :-D My kids would consist entirely of popcorn if allowed. My one year old eats it like she's dying and we don't feed her. I'd say my eating habits are middle of the road. I go in cycles it seems. When I make the effort, I keep fruit and salad in the house, have oatmeal for breakfast and munch on crisp bread and cheese or dried fruit and nuts for snacks. I eat very little beef, some chicken and fish/shrimp. Unfortunately, since I live alone, I often have food go bad before I get around to eating it all. So I stop buying fresh foods as often, thinking I'm just wasting money. Then, since I won't buy crap fromthe grocery store, I'll start getting a burger and fries for lunch, forget to eat breakfast at home and grab a pastry from the vending machine instead. Eventually, I realize I haven't had a vegatable or fruit in 2-3 days, and I get myself motivated to get back towards the healthier selections. And I start it over again. I supoose I could stop this buy getting used to going food shopping every 2-3 days, but I'm lazy that way. BW

Well, I'm 29 now (almost 30). I have become health conscious. I quit smoking and now I try to eat healthy. I'm still 15 or 20 lbs over wieght but I have cut my caloric intake in half so I should be good in a month or two. I almost never eat fast food. If I do have fast food, it is chicken. I haven't eaten McDonalds in about 10 years, I hate it. For food, I go out to eat all the time, but I order healthy stuff. I eat mexican a lot with lots of vegetables. I also eat sushi, chinese and Thai food often. My only vice is beer. I still drink a case per week. how vital enterprise application are for proactive organizations leveraging collective synergy to think outside the box and formulate their key objectives into a win-win game plan with a quality-driven approach that focuses on empowering key players to drive-up their core competencies and increase expectations with an all-around initiative to drive up the bottom-line. That's why fish should be cooked on the grill, outside.

You're crazy! Put some foil on the grill, add some olive oil, green onions, garlic, salt and pepper and your fresh fish. Oh, man... that's good stuff. BW

I haven't had fast food other then a stir fry or cheese sandwich in over 6 months. They still have free soda at work, but I don't drink it. It's harder to resist the free pretzels and M&Ms even though I know they are total crap.

-- Steven WrightWhat Anna-Jayne said but it can also be known as a chipper. And the Irish have an annoying habit of dropping the plural on chips. So they will yell out "Fish and chip and chip" which is a box of fish and chips and a separate box of just chips. First time I heard it I wondered if I had just paid €2 for one lousy chip. regards, Paul Watson Ireland Feed Henry!

Breakfast during the week is always a bowl of muesli and milk. I finally found a muesli I like, took me years and a move to Ireland. Breakfast during the weekend is normally around lunchtime and then anything goes. Lunch during the week is either a salad and ham sandwhich or a panini with some meat and salads on. Since I gave up caffeine I have been having an afternoon muffin. Then for dinner I normally whip up some pasta or rice with chicken or steak and a big salad. Desert is a fruit salad with yoghurt. I have stopped using frozen, prepared foods and two minute noodles. I'll hit the chipper about once a week (normally fish and chips) and then on a sunday I'll go down to a local restaurant and have a lunch meal. regards, Paul Watson Ireland Feed Henry!
