Life is a revolving door. I quit my job on Sunday. 2 hours later I got a call from a friend asking if I'm lookin for a project. The company he's working for need someone to upgrade their website. I called his boss and we set up a meeting this morning. Two hours before the appointment he calls me and tells me his partner already took someone for the job and didn't tell him. BUT!!! He told me he heard from my friend I was a medic instructor in the military and he could offer me a full time job, so I should come and we'll talk. I went. He offered me a job managing courses and stuff, which is quite cool. In the end he asked me to make him an offer for the website as well. Is my luck changing? On my way home I got a phone call on the bus. Got invited to another interview this thursday. Life is a revolving door. Isaac Sasson

It unbeleivable that after my Bachlors in 2001, I got my first job 100$ per month and after working for 3 months I got only two months salary... :mad: And now in 2006 i own my own software company...just bcos i never stop. This is the only key to success in life or in computers. :-O Unless you would have felt bad and started to think that computers are no more for you, then you are actually failure but now you are winner, and this is the philosopy of life. I don't think that's true. After running up against a lot of adversity in a particular field or endeavour, it's worth reassessing where you are and what you want. You can't blind yourself to opportunities outside of programming simply because you've always programmed. BW

I wish that were true for me; years ago I discovered that my body has a tolerance level for chocolate. If I eat more than I should (the 'indicator' is a sort of 'that is enough' feeling) as I did with a piece of black forest cake (actually only ate 1/2 a piece at that!), I get VERY hyper and then an depressed as I was hyper... very up.. then very down... not a good place to be. :(

Aaah yes, I get a similar thing, although from the sounds of it, not quite so bad. But it's not really a problem with the chocolate per se, more with the way it's eaten (no offence intended - I am the same :))

Aaah yes, I get a similar thing, although from the sounds of it, not quite so bad. But it's not really a problem with the chocolate per se, more with the way it's eaten (no offence intended - I am the same :))

When I tell people about this 'affliction', they ususally tell me its caffeine related... But, I drink almost exclusively coffee (regular, decaf, I don't care, as long as it's coffee!) and the caffeine doesn't bother me... must be some other chemical in the chocolate...

I hear it's commonly the sugar :~ . No idea how accurate that is though.
