Jordon...Hot or Not

I think people are being too harsh to him - he just asked a light hearted question, marked his post as humorous (using the icon) and everyone attacks him. Maybe everyone thinks it's politically incorrect to judge a woman's looks! Oh man! :~ Regards, Nish

Well, you seem to have offended a good bunch of people - you had 9 votes of 1 :-) People seem to have missed the joke-icon in your post. I gave a 5 to compensate :-) Regards, Nish

I would say it's politically incorrect to judge a woman by her looks. Or a man for that matter. Looks are nowhere near as important as who a person is, what they are like, how they act etc...

The Ultimate Grid - The #1 MFC grid out there!I think it has more to do with respect than just being PC. If Jordon had no connection to CP, I wouldn't think it was much of an issue. However, she works at CP and clearly scans these threads daily and I think it's plain rude. If the guys here, where I work, sent out an email to all about how hot a female co-worker was, I'd think it lacked a lot of class and would probably say something to the guy who initiated the email. Now if we want to discuss the relative hotness of some public figure, no problem. ;) BW

As human males it's also hard-wired into us to do so, it's what one does with the decision one comes to that matters. Political correctness sucks anyway.

I understand what you are saying. But, you really cannot compare a public forum membership to a work place. [edit] removed unnecessary stuff [/edit] Again, I fully understand what you are saying there! And yes, in western culture, it may actually be seen as rude.

So, it's okay to say that a guy is cool and looks handsome (though people would make gay jokes), but it's not okay to say that a woman is beautiful? Though in actual conversations, most men do tell women that they look beautiful I guess! And again, beauty is sorta relative - remember how we discussed hollywood actresses, and you didn't like the ones I did, and vice versa? Regards, Nish

The Ultimate Grid - The #1 MFC grid out there! There is a difference between telling your date you think she is beautiful and posting "Isn't this chick hot!" on an internet forum :) And yes, it works both ways these days. Though still more so for women. regards, Paul Watson Ireland Feed Henry!

yes, and very basic politeness. To make things even between genders we would need a thread like "Nish...Hot or Not" :) jhaga It would be glorious to see mankind at leisure for once. It is nothing but work, work, work. I cannot easily buy a blank-book to write thoughts in; they are commonly ruled for dollars and cents. A[man], seeing me making a minute in the fields, took it for granted that I was calculating my wages. — business! - I think that there is nothing, not even crime, more opposed to poetry, to philosophy, ay, to life itself, than this incessant business.
