Check out the comments on this article : http://www.codeproject.com/useritems/HackXP-SimpleWay.asp[^] I have been here since the beginning (member 196) and I can't recall ever seeing anything like this. Well, I guess a few of Bill the info droid's articles came close but, damn. Ironically, old Bill loves this article. Now that I think about, that's not ironic. That's fitting. Most incredible is the author's responses to some of the posts. He's actually calling people liars. The whole thing is just astonishing. :omg: :wtf:

And I think I was the only one who tried this. Google probably never indexed the article as it was posted this weekend. I don't see dead pixels anymore... Yes, even I am blogging now!

Gone. What did it say about hacking XP? Was it a security flaw of some kind?

The article provided, supposedly, ways to create a fake user account, access/recover the Admin password, as well other utilities like this. I posted a comment about the article that prompted some of the "you're a lier" responses by noting the "article" as submitted was not an article by CP standards. The guy had put together a few sentences in poorly written english mentioning his article and how he'd been rejected by some other code site. The meat of the article was in his link to a PDF. If you opened the PDF, the content is there, albeit in below average english, and it *is* somewhat interesting, however that's not how we do articles at CP :) (IMHO) Also in the PDF are what appear to be hacked BIOS passwords, which I mentioned was an uncool thing to publish. Apparently this pissed people off, our friend and hero Bill S steps in with his usually witty offerings, and we're off to the race course after that! ¡El diablo está en mis pantalones! ¡Mire, mire! Real Mentats use only 100% pure, unfooled around with Sapho Juice(tm)! SELECT * FROM User WHERE Clue > 0 0 rows returned Save an Orange - Use the VCF!

I very much doubt they were friends, more like clones.:omg: One even wanted to rate the article 10 out of 5. It was rating around 1.6 at the time. Well, whether they were friends or sock puppets, it was still pretty bad behavior all around (even before He Who Shall Not Be Named jumped in).
