Sorce control through internet with Visual Studio integration

Hi all, I need to work with a Visual Studio integrate source control over INTERNET because me and server are in a long distance. Wich tools do you suggest me fo that. What is your experience on that? Subversion is free and works well over the internet, plus it has a visual studio plugin.
