Based upon the time passed between our posts (which is a inaccurate measure of actual signup times) CP should hit 3 mill in about 3 to 4 hours.

Since it still doesn't seem to be required to give a valid email address during sign-up* (only for the newsletter) and there is no CAPTCHA/HIP to check that actually a human is signing up I'm wondering how many of the 3,000,000 accounts are actually real people? Are there any statistics on inactive accounts? Cheers Martin *I didn't try to create another account so my assumption is solely based on the sign-up page and could be wrong. Somebody raised the same question in the past month or so, and Chris replied to it with the facts. You might want to try searching the board. I must admit his numbers sounded better than what I thought they would actually be. :-O Cheers, Vikram.

The 3 million member should get a free human-sized Bob action figure and a free tour to the CP server farm. Isaac Sasson "I hate it. Java sucks. And Java's generics suck harder. And in general, Java just sucks." - David Stone, The Lounge (May 1st 2006)
Given the way most registrations and their first post go... The 3 millionth member should get one free programming question in the lounge (since we all know that's what's going to happen anyways...).:-D

Welcome to CP in your language. Post the unicode version in My CP Blog [ ^ ] now.People who don't understand how awesome Firefox is have never used CPhog. The act of using CPhog alone doesn't make Firefox cool. It opens your eyes to the possibilities and then you start looking for other things like CPhog and your eyes are suddenly open to all sorts of useful things all through Firefox. - (Self Quote)

FYI, having that name (Vikram A Punathambekar / Binary Bandit) that take three lines makes the threads look ugly! ;P jhaga It would be glorious to see mankind at leisure for once.
