Nice trick question! I think it's a reasonable compromise between the legitimate concerns of US citizens and legal residents and reality. Of course it can be a reasonable compromise and totally unworkable, which it is. Why would anyone want to apply for a 'temporary worker' visa to legitimise when the sting in the tail is that at the end of it they have to return to their country of origin? Likewise with the other proposals I've seen. An illegal who can prove he's been here for x years gets legitimised? How does the illegal prove it? By showing employment records. So suddenly Walmart are going to admit they've employed illegals? An impossible bar to pass. Or Joe Blow the building contractor who picks up cheap labour at the corner of Bell and 7th street. Does he even have a record of some poor bastard he picked up in 1997 to help grub out the cactus on a desert block? If he does will he stand up and admit he broke the law? Of course not. So what's the solution? I don't know. Walls a thousand feet tall along the US Mexican border? I'd like to think that the America I believed in 40 years ago and that I became a part of as an LPR 4 years ago isn't like that. I would imagine that would be quite a conumdrum for someone in your position. On the one hand you've played fairly, by the rules and waited your turn to become an anti-American American, while others have cheated and slipped in illegally to become America hating Americans - and will be rewarded for it. On the other hand, the bash-America first crowd needs all the support it can get.

(warning - violent content may be offensive to some :laugh:) Apparently there is a fundamental flaw in the zoo's understanding of nature (but since I'm sure they are a bunch of lefties - that doesn't surprise me). Personally, I think we primates should stick together and teach the godless bears a lesson they'll never forget! I've had quite enough of this 'bears eating monkeys' nonsense. Don't understand your sense of humour, but then, I am one of those individual who don't understand American Humour. Example : What is it that people find funny with the "Friends" sitcom. It just leaves me cold - no humour there for me :(

I think a traditional conservative ("magical thinking") anti-science ideology would be pretty ineffective at running a zoo, but okay. I mean, since conservatives are always right and never have to change or adapt their thinking, they wouldn't be moving the monkeys, they would just kill the bear, assuming that it's the problem. - F

It has been very successful. We conservatives sure know how to do things!
