Now, does this fall under that "great minds think alike" thing, or are we just that sick and in need of help?

We're having a bit of a debate in the office at the moment. At every conference I go to I end up with a bunch of stuff that's branded with company's logos and stuff. What sort of stuff do you like getting best from these things? cheers, Chris Maunder

I usually just end up throwing swag in a pile somewhere, or in a drawer, and never using it. Eventually it all gets thrown out the next time I clean my apartment (which tends to be twice a year) ;) The only swag I can recall actually liking and using was an Oracle fanny pack, which I wore while bike riding. I got it back in college, which would've been 1994-ish. It finally got worn out last year when a plastic clip broke. :(

Tea Cup, T-Shirt, a simple bag, notepad (dead tree edition - I once had an InstallShield branded one. Their best product ever), stick-to-ypour-monitor gimmicks (although they are less useful with flat screens nowadays), "finger toys",

For a moment there I read the date as 1944-ish...man, was that a double-take. :)

A car is always nice, but short of that a shirt is golden and makes much more sense from a marketing perspective.
