I intend to learn ASP.NET without any previous knowledge of ASP. Is it necessary (or recommended) to learn ASP then only go for ASP.NET? (I'm currently learning ADO.NET (VB.Net) I find it easier to understand ADO.NET after I went to learn ADO first and returned back to ADO.NET... is it the same ASP and ASP.NET? ) Pedestrian

IMO, you can go straight to the ASP.NET without learning the classic ASP.

Learn ASP.NET! However, some employers are still using ASP.

I suggest not learning asp before you do asp.net. I find that asp devs write bad asp.net code. TMF

I read some introductory about ASP.NET. Besides HTML, is there a need to learn other related things (perhaps Javascript etc.) before going for ASP.NET? How about XML? I'm currently learning ADO.NET which introduce XML, what is the XML version (or standard) used by SQL Server 2k and ADO.NET?
