Good looks and Smart dressing are two different things, if i hire a person *looks* doesn't matter but smart dressing always makes an impact. besides a bit of grooming always makes you look good (no matter how ugly you think you are)

It's not really funny, in the development game, people have a natural tedency to think you are a cowboy if you are a 'pretty boy' (not that I am a model, but I dont quite have the normal conservative look, in fact I probably look like a cowboy, all rough).**

I say if the situation is as you describe and both candidates are equal. Then go with your personal preference. I'd rather work (and I mean do real work, critical thinking) with someone who just wanted to work to. Not someone who is also overly concerned with how they look. I'm all for practical but the notion of "attractiveness" has no reason to be in the work place at all. Harassment will soon follow in some form or another. - Rex

Why do you equate bald with boring ? If two candidates were the same in all other aspects, I'd take into account how they are likely to fit in to the team, so boring would be a minus. Bald, I could care less about. Good looking people probably do do better tho, that's why I'm taking work remotely, so by the time people meet me, it's too late !!! Well, that depends on so many factors... Remember, not only are you be hired for your skillsets, but also for your ability to play nice and work well with others.

Tell me this : You are in the interview panel, Two girls come in , Both of them have excellent skills. But one of them looks very attractive and the other looks average. Now whom do you select? But imagine another situation. One girl is beautiful, but no stuff (skill!) Another is Average, but excellent skill. Here, people'd only go in for the latter one. But, may be in my company, If I sit in the interview panel, I'd choose the former(atleast one!), Cuz here its going colorless daybyday :(..!

Actually it did him good. I couldn't stand the guy when he had all that hair on his scalp but now he looks -sort of- wise. Almost spiritual.

Yeah, spending your time and money on trendy fashions says your abilities are boundless at whatever you decide to try. At any given instant there are considerably more assholes than mouths in the universe.
