Just a quick one to let you all know that my wife gave birth to our first daughter (and child) Sunday evening. A 6 1/2 Lb treasure named Anastacia. Both are well and are at home resting, eating and looking like angels. Eventually photo's will be posted somewhere, until then picture perfection ...

Congrats to you and your family. Surprising how you can fall in love so quickly with a new born infant, isn't it. :rose: Chris Meech I am Canadian. Is it a family name or did you just like the sound of it?

No her family are Samoan (hence we live here) mine is Aussie. We both wrote down a list of the names we wanted for each sex, Anastacia was at the very top for both of us so it seemed to be the divine intervention. luckily the name seems to have won hearts in both cultures so we are lucky.

Awesome, congratulations!!! What a wonderful time you have ahead of you. In the meantime, keep smelling that beautiful newborn smell on her head before she loses it :). Oh, and check out www.ergobabycarrier.com[^] for the best present you can get your wife .

My wife's family weaved one of those out of coconut fronds (and no I am not lying). But yours seems more appropriate when we visit Australia for Christmas. Thanks for the link, I dare say I will have to get her one. As for the smell, it is just magic. No other word for it. No coffee, beer or cigarette has ever done for me what smelling and seeing my perfect princess does every time I am I with her. Thanks again Megan

That's one word for it. It took 2 days to realise what I was feeling, but the feeling was there from the first moments.

That is pretty amazing. I'm sure she is as beautiful as her name.
