I'm looking for a firefox extension I know I have seen that shows your WAN IP down in your status bar. I'm testing load balancing on my firewall and it would be quite handy to see the IP flip back and forth when I kill one connection over the other...

If we all used the Plain English compiler every post in the lounge would be a programming question.

Yeah, I might be writing a firefox extension soon I guess. I better see if I can pick the brain of Shog or David Stone and see if I can do this all with JS I'm sure I can... I think I just request the URL, parse it and show the IP. Can't be that hard...

Dunno about FF extensions, but since I use Samurize[^], I have written my own IP.aspx and a simple Samurize script that shows the WAN IP. ______________________________________ Tozzi is right: Gaia is getting rid of us. My Blog [ITA] and the ScrewTurn Software experiment

I developed a little tool for internal use that consists of a webservice hosted in a remote server, and a Windows service. The Windows service periodically calls the web service, and this web service can record the WAN IP and post it in a password-protected page. I use it for some of my customers that have dynamic IPs, so I can always know it for remote administration. An ASP.NET web service can get the WAN IP in a single line of code. It could help your parsing...

I just type the following in the browser's address bar: 192.168.1.1 Hint - this works in IE too! Oh wait, you may not have a router...
