Heh. Got Vista Beta 2 working on my Alienware Area 51m laptop. The only reason I hadn't installed it before was the lack of SATA RAID support. Now that it's got that, I'm running it. I gotta say, this stuff is slick. :)

And when we saw the computer, when we saw its code - and Turing saw it first - we were looking at complexity incarnate. And then suddenly we saw complexity everywhere. It materialized, it crystalized around us - even though it had always been there.
We have yet to recover from the shock.

Gonna get that new Aurora from Alienware? The one with dual 7900 GTX SLi cards? ;)

I will never understand why they didn't opt for dual cores as well as dual GTX... a dual dual would have been a much nicer system. We just placed an order for an older alienware because the new ones do not have the dual core as an option... :( BTW... if anyone got their order "bumped" for an m7700 sorry... the customer played the trump card to go to the head of the list, not me. _________________________ Asu no koto o ieba, tenjo de nezumi ga warau. I did find that kind of odd. Especially since the older m7700s did have the AMD x2s. Interesting stuff.

It is because of the complaints over battery life. the previous desktop replacements had 45minutes of power. So the new models are Turion 64bit, but they kicked them out a month before the release of the Turion X2 64bit. In about 3 months plus there should be X2's in the option, or more probably a new model, though they are running out of Alien references that are not trademarked.... Maybe I will buy the Roswell just for the New Mexico reference when they get around to it... or maybe not... it could crash all the time.... _________________________ Asu no koto o ieba, tenjo de nezumi ga warau. I'm afraid I doubt Aero Glass will run on a machine of that spec. From memory, it needs a DirectX 10 compatible video card with at least 128MB RAM.
