Hi CPians! Just in case this is a programming question, don't beat me to hard, but I don't know where to ask/post/write it else... so please be kind :rose: I do have a public folder on an windows 2000 pro machine in our companies network, in which somebody created a folder an copied useless (not really worksafe, not really ) stuff into. Is there a logfile or possibility to find out who was it, at least he/she left a note in the publicfolder with greetings and ??? ...:mad::mad: I just wanna find out who that was...:mad::mad: Thanks, Olli!

The user entry is the person who created the file. Like I said, it isn't full proof as it depends on how your system is set up - so it may not accurately show who did it.

Not really my folder on my machine, but on a machine from my team... (kind of a fileserver, or more a kind of a little unviversal storagething...)

 + :java: = NULL :=> X|To take Colin's point a bit further - click the Security tab. Than click on Advanced... and select the 'Owner' tab. This tells you who owns the file, which may well be the same person who copied it there...
