Urgent

It really annoys me when people post in the programming forums with the subject line containing the word "Urgent". Like this: Urgent[^] Is it just me or does it come across as being extremely rude? People choose to answer questions in the programming forums completely out of the kindness of their own heart so don't go trying to make out your question is so much more important than anybody else.

It's worked for me in the past. :) Of course, I'm special...

You are right, it is rude and ignorant. Sometimes it is just culteral differences, but that still doesn't make it acceptable. :) I tend to use the following list of words to avoid messages like that 'HELP', 'Urgent', 'IMMEDIATE', 'Wrong', etc. My belief is that if the poster can not be bothered to spend the time to formulate concise questions, then I can not be bothered with wasting my time holding their hands. Back in 2001 when I did web development I wrote a guide on how to ask questions on the phpbuilder.com boards, it's applicable to all forums and mailing lists I think (minus some php-specific things): http://www.phpbuilder.com/tips/item.php?id=218. I've been accused of sounding like a cranky grandpa and being noob-bashing elitist asshole, but really, I think they're just bast rules that anyone wanting to operate online should know. Maybe I should brush it up a little and submit as an article - althrough there's probably already something like it on this site and the people it's aimed at won't read it anyway :(

It's just the way some people are.

To the poster, it is the most important question. ;P Marc Pensieve Some people believe what the bible says. Literally. At least [with Wikipedia] you have the chance to correct the wiki -- Jörgen Sigvardsson

I am annoyed by those type of posts as well. I tend to either not answer them at all or just take my dear a-- time answering them ;P

I agreee. If you are paid to be a programmer and you are in urgent need of help then maybe you need to find a job you can handle. If you are a student then start your damn home work a little earlier so your not stuck. Either way, just write a clear, concise, well defined question and hope someone helps you. how vital enterprise application are for proactive organizations leveraging collective synergy to think outside the box and formulate their key objectives into a win-win game plan with a quality-driven approach that focuses on empowering key players to drive-up their core competencies and increase expectations with an all-around initiative to drive up the bottom-line.
