I couldn't care less who wins. Football is a sport for cry babies and actors. :)

Yes, I second that. Both one day and Twenty20 sucks. Okay, one days sucks a little less.

Excitement is IMHO when Shoaib Akhtar or Brett Lee going at Tendulkar or Dravid with the new ball for an hour (while they defend) and then the onslot from the batsman, Not when a bunch of people throwing their bat around for 20 odd overs.

As a commentator on the Jaimaca game put it, Ericssons a lucky manager, and that's mostly what he brings to the side. If everyone's fit by the end of the first round we have as good a chance as anyone. My feeling is that we'll be out in the first round or get as far as the semi's...

If Rooney gets fit in time (which is very unlikely) and by fit, I mean totally fit, then England have a very very good chance. Otherwise, England's best bet is Stevie G. He is the man. Earlier Eriksson makes the decision of leaving Lampard out from the starting 11, the better it is for England. Lampard should come at places where some solidity is needed in midfield. Dont get me wrong though, I am a big fan of lampard but Steven Gerrard is better because he is a one man army who can take a match away from others.

Ah, I see you've fallen into the presses trap of thinking that England are a one man (Rooney) team... They aren't. :) Thankfully. Anyway, as things are going it looks like he'll be back for the end of the first round of matches.

:D In the US, "soccer" is mostly played by girls. Men enjoy another boring sport: baseball.

No, I dont think that they are one man team but Rooney is a big big factor. You must admit. I've been following English football for sometime now and I am saying this because of what I have seen of Rooney since he came on the scene but anyway, Good luck to you.
