I got Many Mail last simply showing number in subject, but found nothing in body and neither any thing attached with it?

On June 6, 2006 Symantec Security Response observed increases in email activity through Symantec’s Global Intelligence Network that may be spam-related.

Wow... they've upgraded their LAN since I worked there. ;)

Weren't virus alerts for those times, back in the good ol days, when there were on;y a handful of viruses? I thought there were like a zillion new viruses a day. Symantec Security Response is advising users to take extra precautions when opening emails And how exactly do we do that? Stand back from the screen when we open it? Click the "open" button slowly? Wear gloves? The virus advisory is, to me, just a Symantec ad. These days every email should be opened with caution and you either use an email client such as Outlook that will block images and scripting, have your OS patched and don't open executables, batch files and pif attachments, or you get infected. cheers, Chris Maunder

Posted it here because it was an official mail from our SysAdmin so thought it could be something real bad. Hence thought of alerting all of you. :)

The only virus here is the Viral Marketing you contributed to by posting this piece of marketing fluff from symantec. Even on the page you linked to they say it's not a virus but they are watching it. What's the use of that other than to get Symantec a little free publicity? I get weird email all the time with no virus attached, hardly worth making any fuss about.
