Fair enough, but I have to say I agree with his staement, with a litte ajustment. "Muslims are a bunch of terrorist, or terrorist supporting slime... but, because slimey behavior goes against Christian theology (unlike Islam), that slime is subdued."

Christian white males are not the only group that has "crap thrown their way". I get plenty of "crap" thrown my way from my own family for being agnostic. ;) "The trouble with jogging is that the ice falls out of your glass." - Martin Mull

Sorry, but I do not believe that was what you were doing. Maybe you were and I could be wrong, but I think you were just showing your true attitude towards Christains. My mom told me once that "while we all don't speak the same language, everyone in the world undestands an asskicking"
No, I'm just showing attitude towards snotty little bastards. It has nothing to do with religion. Christianity (or any other belief system/religion) is not some magic pill, making it possible to get away with idiocy and arrogance, without anyone shoving it back down your throat. If your pastor told you so, you've been had.

What kind of response is that? Is it the "I really cannot think of anything smart to say" response? Or is it a european thing? My mom told me once that "while we all don't speak the same language, everyone in the world undestands an asskicking"
The feces he's chewing is clearly spilling out, here in the soapbox.

Gotcha. But getting crap from family is not the same. I'm sure that even if you were not agnostic, your family would find something to give you crap for. It's that way with my family at least. I guess it's their way of showing they care! Who said it was? It's a beief system. Those who believe it think they are right and everyone else is wrong. Those who do not believe it think they are right and evryone else is wrong. Whats so hard about that? You think I am completely wrong to believe in Christ. I believe you are completely wrong not to. So we are even. Thats the thing about belief systems, you have to believe.
Jörgen Sigvardsson wrote:

Again, just because you do not believe does it make him an idiot? Actually I agree with him, and disagree with you, but I am not calling you an idiot. We all just beileve diffrent things, so what, no big deal. Oh and this arrogance crap is getting old. Americans are very proud, does that make us arrogant? Are you proud to be a Swede? If so, good for you!

Who was shoving anything down anyone's throat? We are in the soapbox having a discusssion. Just becasue someone doesnt agree with you does not mean they are shoving anything down your throat.

Show me a single post in this thread where I've written even a single word that is remotely negative about Christians, Christianity, God or Jesus. "The trouble with jogging is that the ice falls out of your glass." - Martin Mull -- modified at 16:02 Friday 9th June, 2006
You have to be a completely dedicated anti-Christian to draw any kind of parallels between the behavior of the followers of the two religions. I mean, my God, the mere fact that this guy was turned in by one of his own is proof of just how much more could be done if the Muslim community as a whole cared a billionth as much as the Christian community does. As much as you, in your quest to undermine Christians, would enjoy that...I'm perfectly calm. I'm simply amazed at your screwed up world view.

I notice that you're not. I'm sure you would enjoy nothing more than to convert them.

You guys just don't get it. I WASN'T COMPARING CHRISTIANITY AND ISLAM!!!!!!!! I WAS USING A BAD ANECDOTAL NEWS STORY TO SHOW ESPEIR THAT USING A SINGLE ANECDOTE TO MAKE SWEEPING GENERALIZATIONS CAN BE VERY, VERY WRONG!!!! Dear gawd! Read what I write and don't let your paranoia cloud my words. If I've learned anything from this thread it is that severe knee-jerk reactions among the christian right-wing crowd are alive and well. Hell, it wasn't that long ago I was called "right-wing nut-job" almost daily here in the SB. Now I'm considered liberal, a leftist and a terrorist apologist simply because I'm not Christian and/or you folks are paranoid. Geeesh! Good thing his Christian friends turned him in, thereby demonstrating that Christians are anti-terror and capable of self-regulating their crazies. Now if only those terror-stopping Christians could teach the Muslim world to behave with civility.
You know - you made a good point here and I don't understand the drive-by one vote losers that can't see it. Makes absolutely no sense.

I don't believe I read the word "Christian" ANYWHERE in that article. I did see it down below in some sort of news highlights. "An area family thought they lost their four-year-old son Justin in a crash last week. Monday they learned that Justin is still alive and they actually lost thier seven-year-old son Christian." I don't know if he went to church or anything from this text. I know you are trying to make a point Ed, but you failed. Rather miserably in fact.

Espeir made the comparison with a single news story as his "proof" of Christian superiority.
In as far as treatment of other humans and as far as policing themselves, Christans ARE superior. Why would you argue with that?

Well here we go. Can you name one post where espeir I or anyone else said anything like this? Of course not every Muslium is a murdering terrorist.

When Ryan pointed out the obvious flaw in my news story, I meant my "details, details" comment as a joke. Kind of like "Hey! Don't let the details get in the way of my point!"
I was hoping this is what you meant. But I wasn't sure and it wasn't clear. But thanks for the clarification.

Why do you doubt? If a Muslim had built a pipe bomb to blow up an abortion clinic in Greenbelt, Maryland (near where I used to live, as a matter of fact) and had stolen a gun to shoot doctors with, I certainly would have posted something about it.

Perhaps he was an atheist like me. Of course, I don't believe in bombing clinics and shooting doctors. I am pro-life.
