I don't believe I read the word "Christian" ANYWHERE in that article. I did see it down below in some sort of news highlights. "An area family thought they lost their four-year-old son Justin in a crash last week. Monday they learned that Justin is still alive and they actually lost thier seven-year-old son Christian." I don't know if he went to church or anything from this text. I know you are trying to make a point Ed, but you failed. Rather miserably in fact.

In as far as treatment of other humans and as far as policing themselves, Christans ARE superior. Why would you argue with that?

Well here we go. Can you name one post where espeir I or anyone else said anything like this? Of course not every Muslium is a murdering terrorist.

I was hoping this is what you meant. But I wasn't sure and it wasn't clear. But thanks for the clarification.

You guys just don't get it. I WASN'T COMPARING CHRISTIANITY AND ISLAM!!!!!!!! I WAS USING A BAD ANECDOTAL NEWS STORY TO SHOW ESPEIR THAT USING A SINGLE ANECDOTE TO MAKE SWEEPING GENERALIZATIONS CAN BE VERY, VERY WRONG!!!! Dear gawd! Read what I write and don't let your paranoia cloud my words. If I've learned anything from this thread it is that severe knee-jerk reactions among the christian right-wing crowd are alive and well. Hell, it wasn't that long ago I was called "right-wing nut-job" almost daily here in the SB. Now I'm considered liberal, a leftist and a terrorist apologist simply because I'm not Christian and/or you folks are paranoid. Geeesh! According to an ATF affidavit, Weiler planned to bomb an abortion clinic in Greenbelt and use a .40-caliber handgun he had stolen from a friend to "shoot doctors who provided abortions."[^]

Good thing his Christian friends turned him in, thereby demonstrating that Christians are anti-terror and capable of self-regulating their crazies. Now if only those terror-stopping Christians could teach the Muslim world to behave with civility.

I saw a bumper sticker the other day. It read, "Dear God, Please protect me from your followers." As one of the "followers" I had to hang my head in shame. I really regret a lot of things that get done in the name of Christianity. But hey, what do I expect. We had a perfect leader and we nailed him to a tree. I think both Espeir and you have made your points and are now beating a very dead horse. There are contexts in which each of you are exactly right and there are other contexts where both of you are glaringly wrong. You both already understand those reasons. Why are you still kicking the heck out of each other. In many ways you share the same view you just word it differently. I think this is why I don't come down here very much. The fact that "Anything Goes" means it almost always does and when it does go rationallity seems to follow. This comment is not directed at anyone just soapbox posts in general. I'm ashamed of many of the acts that Christians have done in the world. What shames me most is that in making that statement I have no choice but to include myself. Take it easy guys and have a good night. - Rex
