Recently I have observed.. I get too much involved in anything.. liek say I go deep in my coding.. then if somebody comes , or fone rings.. i just can not shift focus to that thing.. so really find it difficult to speak in the other context.. my voice doesnt find original tone or find it hard to speak properly for 1-2 minutes.. then it becomes alright. is this a problem. even i go home i am deeply rooted in my thoughts about the application i am developing. so it takes some time in the evening to get along with everyone in the house. or say in the morning.. i am just in my house atmosphear so find it difficult to focus right away in my code.. it takes around half an hour to get used to office atmosphear. ?????????? -- modified at 7:47 Saturday 10th June, 2006

Joel[^] has an article about that - basically for some people, the context switch time between tasks can be very long, especially when you need to get your brain in/out of coding mode, where you're keeping tons of details in your mind at once.

same here for a "reading mode", no matter if i'm reading code or an article...but my "coding mode" is actually comewhat fragile :( but once i get going i can work pretty fast until someone comes and distracts me again... Roswell
