Out of curiousity, what screen resolution do you guys use? Myself, I use 1152×864, but that is partly because I code in LabVIEW with a limitedly large screen.

3840 x 1024....Triple headed, both home and work. Greedy? Can't live with out it now. The challenge now, portablility...trying to use MaxiVista and 3 x 15" laptops to get the same on the move....

Ok, maybe not. 1600 X 1200 plugged into the flatscreen 1920 X 1200 on the laptop screen. I say you data can't be too small and your digital images too crisp.

LabVIEW development on a single screen that size? Sounds pretty painful to me. That is an environment that benefits greatly from two displays. 1920x1200 laptop/1280x960,1024x768 desktop

It must take at least 5 minutes just to move the mouse cursor from the left edge to the right edge. :~ /Magnus

My primary monitor (Dell Inspiron 8600 laptop screen) is 1920 x 1200. When I'm in the office I hook up an old 1024 x 768 LCD monitor as a secondary screen - very useful for emails, web pages, and for User Interface design when smaller screen resolutions have to be considered.

IIRC 734 is the height of the desktop when the monitor is set to 768 high but there is a start bar at the bottom of the screen.

Interesting, never heard anyone take that into consideration. The problem is that while a majority of task-bars are on the bottom some are on the side and mine is twice the height of a normal one. regards, Paul Watson Ireland FeedHenry needs you

Always on a laptop :-> If out and about, I use the max res of 1024x768 :( (that's not much, especially for a developer like me :sigh: wish I had more) When at home/office, I use 2 screens, extended desktop. Monitor at 1280x1024 as main desktop and laptop LCD as extended. Love working with 2 screens. And would like it even more if my laptop had better res, heh, but it's fine, I'm used to it now. :)

Most of the time I use 1024×768 on my 15" monitor, at 72Ghz refresh, but I switch to 800 X 600 when I am testing the layout of a website during the development phase. The reason I stick to these two options is because of a demographic study I conducted to find out what screen resolution the majority of website viewers reported that they like to use. Found out it's about 60% 1024×768 and 40% 800 X 600... ~ Dorky and Proud of It
