Out of curiousity, what screen resolution do you guys use? Myself, I use 1152×864, but that is partly because I code in LabVIEW with a limitedly large screen.

Always on a laptop :-> If out and about, I use the max res of 1024x768 :( (that's not much, especially for a developer like me :sigh: wish I had more) When at home/office, I use 2 screens, extended desktop. Monitor at 1280x1024 as main desktop and laptop LCD as extended. Love working with 2 screens. And would like it even more if my laptop had better res, heh, but it's fine, I'm used to it now. :)

Most of the time I use 1024×768 on my 15" monitor, at 72Ghz refresh, but I switch to 800 X 600 when I am testing the layout of a website during the development phase. The reason I stick to these two options is because of a demographic study I conducted to find out what screen resolution the majority of website viewers reported that they like to use. Found out it's about 60% 1024×768 and 40% 800 X 600... ~ Dorky and Proud of It

Interesting, never heard anyone take that into consideration. The problem is that while a majority of task-bars are on the bottom some are on the side and mine is twice the height of a normal one. regards, Paul Watson Ireland FeedHenry needs you

Mine's on auto-hide, but there's still a 3 pixel line that stays put. Roswell :)

                Left & right screens (17" CRTs): 1024 x 768 @ 75 and 85 Hertz respectively Middle screen (17" TFT): 1280 x 1024 @ 75 Hertz When I get another two TFTs to replace the CRTs then I'll run those at 1280 x 1024 as well. (Home PC is 1024 x 768 on a single 17" CRT)

Mine is 1152x864 @ 75 htz One question, is there any relationship with the monitor resolution and graphics card? one of my colleague using same type of monitor (philips 107E6) but he is getting more refreshing rate 1280x768 @ 85hz :( I download the monitor driver from philip's website and installed. but no use :( SaRath.

This allows only 24-bit color, it is maxing out the ancient Matrox Millenium G550, however both displays are excellently crisp. The big one is a Sony E540, nice and crisp still although the contrast is perhaps half of what it was new - after it powers up the contrast is very faint and it takes maybe 10 minutes to be usable. Still I was pleased with the results of my research - Matrox DOES have the super-fast RAMDAC's which it takes to crisply generate such a large number of pixels - they pride themselves on 2D resolution, what a coder needs ! pg--az

Dual 1920x1200 on my laptop (laptop 15" LCD with external 24" lcd). The more code and documentation you can see at one time, the better.

Left Screen : 19" CRT 1280x1024 - 60 Hz Right Screen : 22" CRT 1920x1440 - 85 Hz When remote controling it using VNC, you get a BIG screen (1920+1280)x1440. Thats Real VNC with security issues. Just switched to Tight VNC that only sees the big screen. Does anyone with webstatistics know what resolutions people in genaral are using? What I remember from some 2 year old statistics is: 16% 800x600 40% 1024x768 .. Anyone have better statistics?

I too use and very much like 1152 x 864, however I sometimes use 1280 x 800 but only for certain things like diagrams in MS Office Viso or other program where I like to see a full portrait style page in one screen without 45% zoom. But I do not like the squishy horizional effect it seems to have on some programs which is why I normally use 1152 x 864. DB_Cooper1950

1400x1050, but only because my laptop says that's the resolution I have to use, so all my other computers are the same resolution so I can remote-desktop in without switching resolutions.
