I was glad to see you make it through last night. I couldn't beleive the amount of cynical fouling Croatia got away with. The referee Graham Poll was an embarrassment. Three yellow cards before he sent that player off? There was some suprise in England when it was first announced that Graham Poll would be the English referee to go to the World Cup. He is a joke week in, week out in the Premiership. Good luck against Italy on Monday. Words fade as the meanings change, but somehow, it don't bother me.

That was so fun, the commentators remarked on it as well, and even the producer showed the "2 yellow -> 1 red card" graphics at Simunic's second yellow card. Yet, he stayed on the field and even got the third yellow card. Funny. What is eerie though, is that the official match report doesn't show the second yellow card he recived. Wonder if it is a coverup to protect themselves. :) Afterall why didn't the 4th ref spot it etc? But - props to Aussies for well played and entertaining football - I love the aggressive attacking style they front. --------------------------- 127.0.0.1 - Sweet 127.0.0.1 -- modified at 4:13 Friday 23rd June, 2006

The BBC web site is reporting that Poll is set be sent home after all his mistakes last night. [^] Words fade as the meanings change, but somehow, it don't bother me.

The person having the most laugh was probably Simunic. He ought to thank him after the match... lol

Yeah - it was fortunate that it didn't have any real influence on the match. I wonder what FIFA would have done if Simunic had ran up and scored a winning goal :D --------------------------- 127.0.0.1 - Sweet 127.0.0.1

Can someone explain to me why the last second goal the Aussies made was waved off? I watched the ball fall into the net and I saw the ref wave off and then card the hell out of the Croatian player, but the broadcasters were more concerned with the cards then reporting why the goal was not counted? Cheers
