damn, i cannot find any thread related to this, so, i had to... yes, ,we did it !!! after a penalty españa made upon us, we (France) finally won the match 3 by 1 thanks to the goals of Ribery (40min), Vierra (82min) and that god damn old (but still alive) Zidane (91min)... You won because Henry cheated. He is a wonderful player blessed with immense talent and a pretty nice bloke (by all accounts) to boot and this rash act is most unlike him. Shame. Don't think, that the penalty was a fake. But it was an interesting game. Didn't think, France can play this way after the 0 : 0 against Swizzerland. But of course, France had the luck, not to have to play against the cote d'ivoir:-D And the greatest luck for France is, that Austria didn't qualify, otherwise;P (:-O)

I know Zizou scored a goal but to win against Brazil France should play the Arsenal way. More runs into the box. Ribery on the right. Malouda on the left, Henry and Trezeguet/saha upfront with Makelele and Vieira other two in midfield. That's the way France can win against Brazil becuase how good you defend, Brazil will score at least one goal and France has to score goals to beat Brazil. I can't see France having a clean sheet against Brazil due to their ageing defence.

I think Brazil are just starting to warm up: much as I'd like to say the same about England the manager there is making some bizare choices: he should abandon Beckham and use Lennon: seen him play many times: he is a fantastic player who could completely change the dynamics of the England team and give them a chnace of getting to and winning the final. I'm Henry's biggest fan but I'm very disappointed in the over-the-top response to the foul. It was a foul, but he made a meal of it. I'm a little disappointed France won, as I'd have like Henry back home so that he can be well rested for the forthcoming season. Ah well , at least Fabregas and Reyes get a longer break. In a 50-50 run for a ball which Henry was beginning to lose (the spanish player was slightly faster then he was) he jumps to the group grabbing his face pretending to have been hit - ref gives the spanish guy a yellow card for nothing and france get a free kick that they score a goal from - Henry cheated. Plain and simple. The more I watch this world cup the more I am getting sickened by the cheating that is going on in soccer. Players jumping to the group and rolling around in "agony" in order to get a free or the other player booked/sent off. It's disgusting to watch and FIFA should be retrospectively giving those players red or yellow cards. And just so you know - I was completely neutral for the game. I didn't think it was a foul. Was a 50-50 ball that the spanish player was going to win. There is no rule in soccer that I am aware of that would have given that as a foul if Henry hadn't acted the way he did. The commentators here on Irish and British tv were sickened by how he acted and not one of them said it was a free (even though Henry is very popular over here).
