Places was dropped some time ago now[^]. I'm not sure why people are focusing so much on one of the only features dropped. There are still a ton of features in Firefox 2: session restore, spell checking, better extension data storage, leaner, way better tabbed browsing, etc. You can see a really detailed list here[^].

Meh. I'm content to wait 'till they find a problem for that solution. But if you want to see a browser that takes a more "kitchen sink" approach, check out Flock...

What the articles fails to mention is that instead of being dropped, Places has been scheduled for inclusion in Firefox 3 for which will begin developing later this year.

That's a nice list, but I wish they had included one more item: "Make sure Firefox 2 works with CodeProject".

What do you mean? I find that CodeProject works best with Firefox. But I've given it a little help[^]. ;)

Fx 3 is already in development. All Fx 3 work is being done on the trunk. Fx 2 has been done on the Gecko 1.8 branch in the repository. I download nightly trunk builds, and there's a ton of stuff that's already been done on the trunk that's really really cool. :)
