Pirates: Dead Man's Chest

The first one is unique. It's like the Matrix. You have to watch 2 and 3 cause they're the Matrix. Well POTC is like that. I've seen 1 a dozen times and my DVD is slowly being worn out.

Yeah, with the Matrix, the first one blew me away. The second two just blew. Jeremy Falcon

Any of you guys seen the new Pirates flick yet? Author of The Career Programmer and Unite the Tribes
Just remember that September 19th is National Talk Like a Pirate Day. There is nothing funnier than watching the expressions of your co-workers when you spend the entire day doing this. At my last job I was a project manager and even did the pirate talk at meetings. I guess I'm weird enough that no one thought otherwise.

Consequently, I've been looking forward to the second installation more than any movie since The Empire Strikes Back after the original Star Wars.
Hmm... I envision a trip to Blockbuster in my not so distant future then. Jeremy Falcon
The first Pirates is probably the best movie I've seen since the original Star Wars. Get it in wide screen if you can. And like Star Wars, nobody really thought that much about it until they'd seen it. ("Oh, another sci fi flick? Sure, why not...") My best friend suggested we go see the first Pirates and I said, "You mean the one with that foppish guy with all the mascara? You're joking, right?" We applauded at the end of the movie, it was that good. And if you haven't seen the original Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back, you've got to see them. The level of fun, the chemistry between the actors really stands out in comparison to the last 3. In fact, the last 3 Star Wars were very much like the second Pirates. Lots and lots and lots and lots and lots of non stop eye candy, but just nothing going on underneath it all. Author of The Career Programmer and Unite the Tribes

I think it's the sort of thing where I saw it with a friend and we tend to take on funny movies and amplify them by quoting them to each other. I've got my 6 bucks worth out of it for sure. If I'd seen it alone, perhaps not so much.
I find that to be true with most forms of entertainment (barring adult entertainment...) Laughter is contagious! :) :josh: My WPF Blog[^]

Smitha wanted to see it - thanks to you, we won't be doing that - whew! I had to force her to see Superman Returns and she complained that it was way too long - which it was by the way :-) Regards, Nish

Currently working on C++/CLI in Action for Manning Publications. Also visit the Ultimate Toolbox blog (New)LOTR: Return of the King was the same way. Great movie, but it could have used an intermission.
Found on Bash.org [erno] hm. I've lost a machine.. literally _lost_. it responds to ping, it works completely, I just can't figure out where in my apartment it is.

Yeah. It sucks. The first one was awesome, the second one is woeful. No plot, way too long, no ending. The first movie was at least semi-believable. The second is utterly ridiculous. Biggest waste of money I've ever made.
