Which iPod?
-
I have just received a pack of Audio-Bible CD-ROMs. I never knew I was going to pick a pack of 58 CD-ROMs. Now, I want to put all these on a iPod. Any advice on which iPod could contain all these? (I will use the iPod exclusively for this). Best regards, Paul. Jesus Christ is LOVE! Please tell somebody.

58 CD-ROMS shound occupy atleast 3 GB on your iPod. So you have 2 options iPod Nano (4 GB) or iPod Video (30 GB) I suggest that you go for iPod Video since the price difference is not much. Once you start enjoying your iPod, you will surely want more stuff on it. Regards, Gautam Jain

58 CDs.. wow! I just wanted to second the suggestion about the 30 GB iPod w/ Video. My s/o has one, and he's absolutely in love with it. Besides, it'll quickly grow on you, and you'll find that the extra storage space comes in handy. And just in case you weren't already aware, the iTunes software can rip your CDs to AAC (iPod audio format), so it shouldn't be difficult at all to transfer your discs to your new device. Enjoy! :-D

Thanks for the useful and detailed analysis. I like the cute Nano, but as you said, the iPod Video is a nice buy. Best regards, Paul. Jesus Christ is LOVE! Please tell somebody.

Yeah, I was surprised too. But, coming to think about it - if the whole Bible could be on 2 CD-ROMs as I assumed. We could listen to the whole Bible read out in half a day! Thanks for the suggestions. Best regards, Paul. Jesus Christ is LOVE! Please tell somebody.

There is just one problem with that. The 30GB v-iPod has abysmal battery life and given the 58CD source, I would assume it will be used extensively for long periods of time. If that is the case, and if OP truly will only be be using it for bible listening then it might be a better choice to go with nano because of the better battery life and smaller footprint. However, it's going to be a tight squeeze, it's possible the CDs might have to be encoded in 96Kbps to make it fit, which shouldn't be a problem though because it's only voice, not music.
