President Bush told people magazine this week that he 's working on a solution for global warming. He says it will be ready in less than six months. It's called winter.

I'm all for generalizing about Americans, and what the rest of the world think about them... ;) But.. For me: 1: I love big cars with some power :) 2: N/A 3: I have everything on standby, switching off is too inconvenient 4: We do that a bit 5: I love buying all sorts of gadgets and stuff :D And I'm from Denmark ;) - Anders My new photo website[^]

there's a north bit? oooh! i was worried that my current work load was effecting both my memory and my mental stability, but the voices have reassured me that it is actually all fine, so thats ok. does that mean there's a south, west and east bit as well? what about a north/west bit?

Yeah. Agree on this one.

There is a tradeoff here mostly to do with health issues.

Once again I agree.

Earning? Are you using the correct word? Do you mean developing?

As long as we continue buying imported German crap, right?

And many Americans are all for generalizing about the rest of the world since the rest of the world seems to thing that everything is America's fault. Or did I just generalize a bit too much? Eh, it works both ways.... Personally: 1. I ride a motorcycle to and from work all year round. Definitely NOT a fuel hog. 2. I don't use air conditioning at home, and at work it's controlled by the facilities twits (generally it's "heat on in the summer, heat off in the winter"). 3. I use my home computer for a PVR, everything else gets turned off and I yell at my adult kids when they leave the lights on any room in the house that they aren't currently occupying. 4. What does "earning renewable energy" really mean? As I understand it, you can "buy" credits for some foolish governmental bookkeeping that allows you to continue use non-renwable energy (fossil fuels for example). Pure nonsense. Either it's renewable or it's not. Wood, renewable, grain alcohol, renewable, hydro, renewable, solar, renewable. I live in the PNW so as long as we have wood, grain and rain, I use renewable energy. 5. I'm not a bleeding edge kinda guy, I have some gadgets but I've had them for years, and only buy new ones when either the old one breaks or I finally realize I really have to have that slicer/dicer that creates julienne fries. So do I meet your requirements of a "conscientious earth inhabitant" despite my American citizenship? Mike Poz
