A raging river may be beautiful and water is necessary for life. A mountain is beautiful and minerals are necessary for life. A mountain is a place for trees to grow and trees support life and are alive. So life is. It's the only answer that won't date itself instantly. Not sure it has to be a parental thing. It does help to realize beauty is greater and deeper than any fashion magazine cover image and that a new life is the greatest beauty of all.
