NYC soccer fans

Any CPians out there who live in (or around) NYC know where you can go to play in soccer pick-up games (for adults not kids)? Does Central Park have any sort of regular place for this? I'm still looking but not finding much, and wondered if others knew anymore about it. Central Park seems to have official fields for it, but it seems like their usage is limited. ¡El diablo está en mis pantalones! ¡Mire, mire! Do you live in NYC? I ask because I have a cousin that plays in a soccer league but its in North Jersey. I know of a place in Teaneck New Jersey also that has an indoor soccer league. Let me know if you are looking for anything outside NYC.
Yeah, I live in Astoria (Queens). So Jersey is a little far out of the way for me. Plus, quite frankly, Jersey frightens any sane New Yorker. There's an indoor league at Chelsea Piers that I might look into come fall/winter but that's at least $200 for 10 games. I'm trying to get a weekly pickup game going at work (starting today!) over at Nelson A. Rockefeller Park[^]. ¡El diablo está en mis pantalones! ¡Mire, mire! Thats what I figured but wanted to put it out there anyway. I would be interested in your weekly games since I work in NYC, but I am not much of a soccer player. I work with a few guys that play soccer and live in NYC so I will ask around and post something when if anyone knows of anything. Thats funny that you are trying to get a game there. I work right around the corner and take a walk around that park almost everyday :)

If you want to be extremely good at it there's a simple thing you must learn. All the *very* best players can do it without thinking (everyone else isn't the best) and that's juggle. If you can learn to control the ball with your feet, knees, head, thighs, etc... You'll be great. I think juggling is addictive, a great work-out and without to much effort you can learn it and you just keep building on what you can do. I can manage over 100 touches without too much trouble. My record is over 500 touches. Anytime I'm near a ball you will catch me juggling. The other benefit... you can do it on your own and in doing so it will make you better when you do play with others on the field. Soccer is just like battle if you control the air you control the game. A friend of mine and I used to take teams apart just buy going through the air in whatever capacity was there. We exploited everything we could. So spend some time on the core basic and all the others will be very easy by comparison.
