what is SqlDataSource ?

Hi , i saw an object that asp.et 2.0 brought , this object called sqldatasource actually i don't know if it is new to asp.net 2.0 but i have never seen it before can you tell me please what is that object & when we should use it ? & better how can we use it & how it works ? because i saw that we can use it as a datasource for some controls like gridview && ... but what i don't know is how this wok ? how the data get stored within this object ? i hope you undertstand the meaning thank you

I would suggest using the ObjectDataSource instead. That way you can put all your database code in a separate class file. That is what n-tier is all about and it makes maintenance so much easier.
