Yeah, yeah, Christian is gonna rave about some obscure metal band again... Well, actually, I got the Angel City remasters and worked through them, then I went looking through my collection. I went to 'P' (what, you don't think I sort my 800 odd CD's by name ? ), expecting to grab Poison, and I ended up with Pink Floyd. I have the remasters of Wish you were here, Dark Side of the moon and The Wall, and I've listened to them in order. I think I'll start again, this is some pretty timeless music.

Is Master of Puppets gonna be number one ? I'm eagerly awaiting the Martin Poppoff 'top 500 metal albums of all time' book, which should arrive today ( along with a couple of ASP.NET 2.0 books ). I have the top 500 metal songs book, and MOP makes number 2 ( beat by Paranoid ). I love getting those lists and seeing how far I go before I find one I don't have. I usually fall at Slayer - South of heaven. I should buy that just so I can claim to own the top 50 metal albums of all time.

Actually I'm not listening to anything at the moment but I have a request for the CP music gods... I've read a couple good reviews of the new Tom Petty - Highway Companion[^] CD and I'm wondering if anyone here has given it a listen? Good? / Bad? / Worth $15?

That's not the new one is it ? No, I think that's called 'Educating Horses'. I have the best of. My summation is that Rob Zombie only has one song, but it's a really good one :-)

I have about 100 MB of mp3s, about half of those I have on CD ( most of hte others are long OOP and I look for them on ebay regularly ). But, I found a 60 gig iPod was just a pain to navigate. The muvo holds all my recent purchases and current favourites and is nice and small to carry around ( as well as being cheap enough that I don't have to worry about protecting it like I did the iPod ).

Actually I'm not listening to anything at the moment but I have a request for the CP music gods... I've read a couple good reviews of the new Tom Petty - Highway Companion[^] CD and I'm wondering if anyone here has given it a listen? Good? / Bad? / Worth $15?

I listened to a couple songs so far, it's pretty good. I haven't liked much from Petty in a while, but liked this. It's currently the #1 Cd on Rhapsody so I imagine it's worth $15.

I'm listening to Happy FM[^] from France (pronounced "ah-pee eff emmmmmmm"). No, I have no rational explanation.

                                          cheers, Chris Maunder
