It always counts. You were the guys who were trying to excuse it yesterday.

And we still are... [^] Thats because it is excusable. The man didn't do anything. He is innocent. He is not a racist, he is not a bigot. You leftists are just addicted to the herion of race. Even if Allen were a racist, it would not even rate among the top one thousand threats we face as a society. Racism simply is no longer that big of a deal in our society regardless of the silly extremes you guys go to to keep it alive. This is yet another perfect example of leftist fear mongering - trying to terrify the American people, especially the minorities you are so dependent upon, with racial propaganda. You don't care about terrorism, you don't care about any thing other than achieving your America hating agenda.

    Thank God for disproportional force.

Defending racism. And throwing in the 'Vast Left Wing Conspiracy' for good measure. Gotta love it.

Unfortunately for you, yesterday's article had nothing to do with the left. But I'll forgive you, your not capable of any other thought.

I never said it did. I merely said: Good God, will the left never tire of playing the race card? because I knew this was precisely the kind of issue that would be front page leftist news in the US for the next week.

That is becuase the most serious threat we face is from the left. If we can rid ourselves of it, all the other problems will solve themselves rather quickly.

Don't play that game with me asshole. I"m not defending anything. There was no racism to defend. You guys are creating it, as usual, out of whole cloth. And yes, that is a major part of the 'Vast Left Wing Conspiracy'.

Maybe that has already been done. The water has already been fluoridated.:laugh:

I was being rhetorical. Just because you say its racism doesn't mean it is. What Bidin said was, in fact, far more racist than what Allen said even if he had known what the word meant. Allen directed his comment towards an individual as an individual, Biden directed his comments towards an entire group. I have no idea if Allen is a racist or not. But I absolutley know what you are and I am sick and tired of seeing good men kowtowing to the phoney morality of the left for every poorly choosen term. Take your little racial mantra and stick it where the sun don't shine.

Predicting the future isn't difficult when dealing with leftists. You are very predictable.

It ain't racism, well, it is, but it's not as bad as some other racism. Is that what you mean, Stan? From Dr. Stragelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- General Jack D. Ripper: Mandrake, do you realize that in addition to fluoridating water, why, there are studies underway to fluoridate salt, flour, fruit juices, soup, sugar, milk... ice cream. Ice cream, Mandrake, children's ice cream. Group Capt. Lionel Mandrake: Lord, Jack. General Jack D. Ripper: You know when fluoridation first began? Group Capt. Lionel Mandrake: I... no, no. I don't, Jack. General Jack D. Ripper: Nineteen hundred and forty-six. Nineteen forty-six, Mandrake. How does that coincide with your post-war Commie conspiracy, huh? It's incredibly obvious, isn't it? A foreign substance is introduced into our precious bodily fluids without the knowledge of the individual. Certainly without any choice. That's the way your hard-core Commie works

Yeah, when you put everybody in your little groups, you don't really have to think any more, do ya? I've kinda noticed that about you.:) -- modified at 23:43 Wednesday 16th August, 2006 I hope you were drinking well water as a kid as well:)

You talk about "old news" and then mention someone who has been dead for a couple years and who died at about 100 and who was a Democrat when he fought civil rights? You amaze me sometimes. Jesse Jackson is CURRENTLY a left-wing leader bigwig in the Democratic party.

The Plank[^] This is a subscription site so here is the text: "ANNALS OF IMPLAUSIBILITY: According to the Hotline blog, George Allen has a new explanation: What does Macaca really mean? Three Virginia Republicans confirmed to the Hotline that several Allen campaign aides and advisers are telling allies that the word was a made-up, off-the-cuff neologism that these aides occasionally used to refer to tracker S.R. Sidarth well before last Saturday's videotaped encounter. According to two Republicans who heard the word used, "macaca" was a mash-up of "Mohawk," referring to Sidarth's distinctive hair, and "caca," Spanish slang for excrement, or "shit." Said one Republican close to the campaign: "In other words, he was a shit-head, an annoyance." Allen, according to Republicans, heard members of his traveling entourage and Virginia Republicans use the phrase and picked it up. It was the first word that came to his mind when he spied Sidarth at the weekend's event, according to Republicans who have been briefed on Allen's version of the event. [emphasis added So Allen would have us believe that "macaca" is a wacky nickname combining "mohawk" (even though the Webb staffer in question really doesn't have one in the typical sense) and a word (caca) which English-speakers rarely use--and which just happens to be a racial slur in a language Allen speaks? That's some coincidence. Even if you accept that Allen was "only" calling the guy a shithead instead of a monkey, a friend asks: "Is that a defense--or an allegation"? " also: " "Macaca" isn't just some obscure term for "monkey," it's a French slur for dark-skinned people. And, as Ryan explained yesterday, Allen's mother is French-Tunisian, and Allen speaks French. This may not be the sort of proof that would hold up in court, but it's pretty clear that even if Allen was trying to make up a silly name for the foreign-looking cameraman, the association he came up with was a racial slur he knew."

As an Indian myself, I don't see what the big deal is. So he made fun of the guy he was pissed at. And it so happened that this guy was an Indian. Big deal. What if Siddhartha was a white guy, and all the others black? If Allen said something that took advantage of the fact that he had a white skin to ridicule him, would it still be racist? And what if Allen wasn't even thinking "colored" or "Indian" when he made all those remarks? If I break up the word "Macaca" this way or that, and misspel whatever part I want to, I may be able to come up with several variations, each of which may be derogatory in one language or the other. I may even come up with a few that are complimentary. So? (In fact, "Caca" or "Kaka" in Hindi would mean "Uncle." Not too derogatory, eh? Except maybe that Siddhartha may object to being called an older man's uncle. After all, seeing that Siddhartha is an Indian, Allen could use a Hindi word or two from his memory to address him and win him over, right? In fact, the way some people are trying so hard to prove there was some meaning and intent behind using the word (after slicing and dicing it, translations from various languages that his mother or friends spoke, etc), I feel they deliberately want to produce smoke where there is no fire. And I'm sure Siddhartha got a big pat on his back from his masters for having the presence of mind to play the racist card at the right time. And why is everyone trying so hard not to hurt anyone's sissy feelings? It only encourages two kinds of people: 1. Whiners like Siddhartha 2. Bullies and manipulators. And makes life hell for the rest of us. I want the good old days back, when it was OK to laugh, even in public. And when it was OK to let everyone know you're pissed at someone.

If it was a term that was derogatory to whites, yes it would be racist. The middle part of your post, is like the posts from the other day, trying to excuse him(only slightly better than if you were actually defending racism). By his own admission, he was calling the man a sh*thead.

Since when is calling someone a shithead considered being racist? Perhaps I missed a memo or two, but do enlighten me.
