I've heard about the same from Redmond. Apparently the games don't have the same feeling as PS2, not that that's a bad thing. As new games come out, the PS2 will have no where to run. Cheers, Simon "I get paid for my brain and my thinking in several obscure worlds", Olli, The Lounge

No worse than any other console but that isn't good. Have you noticed that console games cost 1.5 - 2 times what te do for the PC ? Most console prices have been subsidised because they make the big money on the games but Intel haven't done this. A mistake in a market with several extablished competitors.

Yes, but have you noticed that console games don't require updates, patches, they HAVE to be stable (of course, rumor says ms put that hard disk into the console to apply service packs ;) ), and this will raise QA costs

 All the PC games I've seen cost $50 when they first come out and new console games cost the same. James Simplicity Rules!

Hmm, the suggested retail price here in Germany for an XBOX game is €69 (~ $61), and PC Games hardly go over €44...

You don't need to worry about the end user having some weird video or sound card or that they won't have the latest drivers. You can test your code on one system and pretty much be assured that it will work for every user.

Not in the States, from what I've seen. Back in 1985, when the original Nintendo sold for $250, games were $50 a piece. Two weeks ago, I paid $53 for Sonic Adventure 2 for the GameCube. For some reason, consumers have simply come to expect that a console videogame here costs $50 - and that's just about all they're willing to pay for one... -- Russell Morris "WOW!
