Exactly! It's crazy when you think about how immature they are. :(

It would seem that the average age of internet users have dropped significantly the last couple of months. At this rate, the lounge will soon be taken over by people with names like HotChick14 and BigStud16. :sigh:

Yes, this phenomena is commonly refered to as "Summer Holidays" and usually occurs once a year. related phenomena "Easter Holidays" and "Christmas Holidays" may interest you, however the latter being less noticable due to the phenomena of "Presents" such as XBox's and Lego Mindstorms reducing the phenomena's affected parties impact upon the Internet.

It is much better to just ignore some threads and topics.

You are right, but this is the bad luck: some time ago, I was reading all threads, finding in each one something for use (or something which deserved the time spended with reading). And I don't want now just enter the forum and hit "Next" many times to find something where I can stop... I think are many of us which can remember Lounge 3-4 years ago... was so much friendship and good mood and joy!!

I agree totally, I believe I have many friends here and hope to meet then in thier home towns some day. Just as the site has grown some of this is inevitable. So you just have to work to respect each other and ignore those parts you do not like. Getting sick over it (I was letting that happen) just is not worth it.

Sadly the Lounge has picked up a troll. The sooner we have that ignore thread started by , the better the Lounge will be.

I'm rarely one who rants about "spam" (in the sense of offtopic from the major focus of the site), but the immaturity of some posters is starting to detract from this fun of this place. Especially when we don't have an ignore button. And that has nothing to do with discrimination other then having a noice filter for stupidity.

There is a noise filter. You can set the message score threshold (to your stupidity-tolerance level, I set mine to 3) and ignore all the greyed messages. For The Lounge I think it's quite safe (and probably recommended) to ignore all the greyed ones. Hmm, perhaps Shog9 from outer space can add filtering to CPHog to hide/block posts from certain people.

Problem is that thoese ratings are often extreemely misleading. We have had people simply voting down everything and everybody before, and we'll have that again, and we have people who vote down because they disagree with the contens of a post, but not because the post itself neseacarily is "bad". For instance a long constructive post regarding some issue will be voted down by people not seeing the issues the same way, eventhough the post is perfectly structured and presents logical arguments. I'd still prefere an ignore on poster then on rating.
