I was just thinking along those lines today, the new Survivor is apparently going to divide the group into "tribes" by race. In the promo ad a Hispanic guy says something about it being great to be all Hispanic in his tribe and they will kick ass (Hispanic power) and I was thinking the "white" tribe members couldn't possibly say something like that or they would be villified.

Yet another reason to avoid Survivor, on top of the many thousands that already exist...

Ever wonder why it's considered funny for this, but if the opposite were true (man slapping the woman), nobody thinks it's funny at all? Yeah I know, I'm getting good at hijacking threads. :-D

I agree - having an insolent woman in the house is certainly no laughing matter. This applies to both residents and guests - no matter how highly stationed on the social ladder you are, ladies, don't think you won't feel my backhand for speaking out of turn!

That loses the humor element because the woman could sue the crap out of him. Whereas with the bitch-slap, only a doggone fool would waste money even trying to sue her.

Great Nish, why don't you just give my wife more ideas. If she ever sues me I will have you ...

Ok. I have to be anal here. :) Strength isn't the only determining factor to a fight being won, but if I get what you were saying then I totally agree with this. I find the idea of balance plays so true in so many aspects of life. And that's what I see happening in the scenarios you presented. Another example, people like to insult ego, pig-headed fools to bring them down, and people like to inspire and lift up insecure ones. This is all within reason of course, but it comes back to balance.

            Josh Gray wrote:

I didn't say that on purpose. I'm highly gifted in the ways of getting into a bitch fest it seems. :-D But yeah, that's one of the points I wanted to bring up. Assuming this is only the plane of physicality. But what really makes one weaker? Psychical strength? Long gone are the days where a club is the only weapon around. Why should strength be the determining factor when in fact we can easily claim brains over brawn (think about humans are dominant in the first place; we ain't the strongest creatures). And if it is the main factor, is it a residual thought process that was never really let go of from the olden days when women were meant to be seen as subservient? Anyway (ok I'm done rambling), but I see it's about balance. That ultimately weighs more on people than hypocrisy, etc. And yeah, I'm bored. :->

So she's back and you've had to very quickly change your ways.

How many of you take a Bike (Bicycle) to work? I am going to try it tomorrow. Actually not purely a bike ride but a bike + bus ride (buses have bike racks).

Well, I can only speak for myself. I always ride to work when the weather is fine. In the morning, the way to my office goes downhills, so I don't need more time than the tram trains. In the evening, I need nearly twice the time to ride home. That's just what I need after a day on a chair at a desk.

I bike to work several times a year. My route is 11-13 miles, depending on the roads I take. I can use a bike path for 10 miles and flat road for 2, I can take a mildly hilly road, or an oh-my-god-my-heart-is-bursting-from-my-chest hilly road.

I think if we're ever supposed to forget abouse race and racism (like it'll happen), then this is a step backwards. It's a good thing I don't watch TV. :)

the response of a beaten man!

Truth is the subjection of reality to an individuals perception
