Would you accepting me?

Hello After all the posts I've read the last two days about terrorism and Islam. I have 5 questions: I'm a moderate bearded muslim who do not endorse terrorism -as many other muslims-. If I ever travel to a westren country to work/study: 1- Would you accept me as a friend/colleague/neighbour? 2- Would you blame me if a terrorist action -committed by a muslim- occurs? 3- Would you give me a chance to express my point of view? 4- Would you trust me -if I'm trustworthy of course-? 5- Would you hate me for being a muslim?

Well friendship only comes once you know a person for a length of time, but I'd have no problem with the other two.
Nader Elshehabi wrote:
2- Would you blame me if a terrorist action -committed by a muslim- occurs?
Only if you knew about it before hand and didn't do anything to stop it
Nader Elshehabi wrote:
Would you give me a chance to express my point of view?
Of course, everybody is entitled to their views - just don't ram your beliefs down my throat as if they are the one true way (that goes for all religious people)
Nader Elshehabi wrote:
Would you trust me -if I'm trustworthy of course-?
No. But then I don't trust anybody.
Nader Elshehabi wrote:
5- Would you hate me for being a muslim?
No. I'd wonder why an intelligent person in the 21st century could still believe in that kind of stuff but then again, I'd say the same about most other religions.

1 - Depends on how cool you are. 2 - If not proven ?? Of course not. 3 - If you haven't done anything wrong, you wouldn't have to do that. 4 - Of course, to a certain limit. I mean, if my wife and I stand on a very high bridge and she says: "Jump, trust me it's ok." I'd probably be a bit _dis_trusting. 5 - No, you can believe anything you want as long as you don't enforce it to others. Essentially it's not Moslims, Christians, Jews, ... it's about being an extremist or a moderate guy in the things you do/believe in.
I've found a living worth working for, but I haven't found work worth living for.

1. Well, yes. You wouldn't be the first 2. No. I would blame those terrorists. But perhaps you and me would talk about that, without blaming each other (I hope so). :) 3. Of course. 4. Of course. 5. No. I don't like the Islam very much, but that has nothing to do, with the people who live their life in the sense of the Koran. No one as to accept my religion as the true one - and I won't accept other religions as the true one. I'm Christian, but I think everybody who don't oppress or encumber life of others, has the right to live his own life in the way he want. So I turn the question around, would you accept my culture (as the culture of my country) and my religion (as being my religion not yours), when come into my country? If you do so, I see no problem. :rose: Regards, Ingo -- modified at 5:14 Friday 8th September, 2006

As a ex-beardie I don't understand the problem some people have with beards. They keep your face warm, they're good to stroke while you're thinking, and they act as food stores for when you feel peckish. :)

I would blame you if did not see it as a manifestation of your culture and religion. Terrorism caused by Islamic extremists is the reponsibility of all Muslims, just as the terror of Fascism was the responsibility of all westerners.
Nader Elshehabi wrote:

I would hate you for being a cowardly Muslim if you accepted Islamic terrorism as just something done by a "few" "evil" Muslims. As a Muslim stopping Islamic terrorism should be your highest priority.
Thank God for disproportional force.

If you think Christians are unclean, and wouldnt let them in your house then you can fuck off. If you think beer drinking pagans are unclean then you can also fuck off. Basically, if you keep your religion in the box, and dont let it negatively affect the way you live your life in the greater world, you are OK. If not then dont come to my country.

Yes, though I'd argue with you if you tried to defend their actions (which I doubt you will).

Never. Note : I am an atheist (not a Hindu like most Indians are).
