In France Now!

Well i Traveled the whole day on sunday to get to le mans (france). I got down at paris CDG airport and from there i got a TGV train to lemans. Other things are fine except that most of the ppl dont understand english, and i dont know french :) One thing that i learnt is that, whenver you go to a cabin where there are several ppl sitting, you should greet all of them by shaking hand and then talk to the person who you had come to meet.

Always take a phrasebook or even a crib sheet with 10-20 simple phrases.

Well, France is a French speaking country. And they are very proud of their language. Perhaps you should learn some.

You dont have to shake hands, but when you walk into a carriage, a waiting room, or up to a pizza van on the street and there are people already there, you shoujldsay 'Bonjour Messieurs Dammes' or 'Bonjour tous'. This is so refresshing compared to walking into an Indian takeaway waiting area in England, whereupon the low browed Neanderthal in the corner wearing a shell suit with stains on it glowers at you under hooded eyebrows.

in india we usally dont greet unknown ppl unless we need to talk to him.
