I never thought I'd be so happy at finding gas just under $2/gallon. In Iowa it's about $2.10 a gallon and Nebraska $2.14.

I have absolutely no idea about the local gas prices. That makes me lucky I guess :)

Ditto. My car runs on LPG, which I believe is just over a third the price of petrol at the moment...

I've been meaning to ask - we've been paying $1.50 odd a litre, and right now it's as low as $1.06, is that the case everywhere ?

In Denmark (and AFAIK the rest of europe) the prices are almost an all-time high at the moment.

In my part of the UK (which isn't even the most expensive!!!) unleaded pump petrol currently retails at approximately £0.89 per litre. This isthe equivalent of $6.37 per US Gallon!!!! Now you know why the UK population aren't permitted to carry arms.

That's nothing - we passed a petrol station in Hampshire last night which was selling for £1.05 per litre - $7.52 per US Gallon. X|

I'd have no idea were it not for the filling station over the road. £0.86 per litre, which is around 10p cheaper than a month ago! Ah, the joy of using a bicycle to get to work :-D

crude prices are falling sharply. About a week ago someone posted about a hedgefund that had recently made a gigabuck on oil futures just reported a 3G$ loss due to the same. What a tragedy. Edit: if you find the thread don'tbother reading replies, it rapidly degenerated into accusations that the oil companies were doing it to elect republicans or that Soros was trying to keep driving it up until after the election but ran out of steam.

This past weekend I paid $2.16 for Premium in SC (regular was $1.96 for cash $1.99/credit). The station was packed with people and was joking with a guy that everyone came running out to fill up not knowing when it would go back up. He laughed and said he was going back to get his wife's car for just that reason. LOL. Any thoughts on whether these prices will continue? Amazing how this doesn't get nearly the media coverage the increases did, huh?

Yep. I can remember buying gas for $0.75 per gallon. I always thought it odd that gas was always around $1 per gallon. It stayed like that for years, and then slowly started to creep up. :(

Analysts say that $1.15 by 2007-2008 is not out of the question.

Unless somewhere suffers a repeat of the 99 asian meltdown I'm rather dubious about this number. The increased production that has finally caught up with demand is largely from sources taht weren't economically viable at historicly lower prices.

$0.52 = $2/3.7854118 (litres in a gallon) €0.408672 = $0.52 (Courtesy of XE.com) Unleaded Petrol is currently averaging at €1 a litre here (Courtesy of IrishFuelPrices.com) Seems to me like your getting a good deal, what litre engine is your car ?

I have no idea. It's a Saturn L300 which they aren't making anymore but I know I get about 35 mpg on the highway. LOVE my Saturn!
