That is a shame. They will pump him full of drugs and then he WILL be crazy. Just another case of someone trying to do good and expose evil, and then being attacked, jailed, or killed for it. That is what happens when there is no freedom, the government will destroy you(and eventually the human race).

Visiting Singapore, I had no idea this sort of thing was going on until it came up in a book I read recently.

I didn't know that Falun Gong is prosecuted in Singapore, too. To please the Chinese, they say, ahh that certainly makes sense  What do you think about these Falung Gong people? They are usually portrayed as humble and nice people that want to meditate now and then, hunted by the big evil Leviathan. But sometimes it appears they are more busy with exposing that ugly hunt instead of meditating. And I'm very very suspicous :)

I dont know much about their teachings or character of them. I am just feeling unjust for them. What they did is legal. I dont know why the government can stood so low to ignore the facts and even compromise the legal system, just to please China. Even the local media dont provide much coverage on this.

It doesn't make too much sense. Why would Singapore try to please the Chinese on this matter? They have been making the Chinese angry on all the other things including their (military) relationship with Taiwan. Falun Gong is known to make up and exagerate things to get publicity. Last time a Falun Gong member was attacked in South Africa, they claimed the attacker was hired by Chinese government. It turns out a few more chinese were attacked just before that and the Chinese Consulate had issued warnings to all chinese citizens living there.

No need to be ashamed. I (hope) think that most people are intelligent enough to understand that a politicans actions are almost never the will of the people. Personally, I given up on the forms of governance that seem popular around the world. :( It seems there hasn't been any real advancement in a long time. Just calling the same old things by a different name and putting a new spin on it. I am not yet unconvinced that politicans are the worst of us.

Freedom is a universal, inalienable, unalterable truth. It is what it is and needs no definition by you or anyone else nor does it depend on some society to have a definition or place. It's true that your freedom can be taken away, or diminished, but it can't be granted it can only be abrogated by unrighteous dominion.

The point is: "de-governmenting" will destroy freedom as quickly.

It is universal, inalienable all right but Freedom can be conceived only in the concept of society, or it has no meaning. Freedom is by definition what the Individual can do in the context of leaving with others. And the exercise of the natural rights of each man has no limits except those which assure to the other members of the society the enjoyment of the same rights.
